My drivers side valve cover leaks oil from the valve cover oil cap( i have the oil cap with 2 prongs and a gasket basically push and twist, i was thinking of going to the Rubber grommet on the valve cover and installing the same type cap only with the push into the grommet type oil cap
Anyone else done this, and does anyone know the part #
I looked at Rudi's Immaculate mustang last night at our local cruise show but forgot to ask him Questions on the valve cover Grommet if his valve covers had the notches for the cap with the 2 ears or not?
I ran a dye thru the engine and this is definitely where the oil is coming from.

jimmy, my engines (289 and 302) both blew oil out different places like that. It started at the oil fill cap and I replaced it with one that sealed better. Then it started blowing it out the dipstick. I went to a vented oil fill cap that had the vent holes on the bottom but eventually it filled up with oil and started blowing oil out the vent holes. I then went to a fill cap that had a single vent hole and put a peice of tubing on it, this tubing then connects to my air breather. I got this idea from MS he used a barbed fitting to attech his to the breather.
I can take some pic and post if needed. I checked everything under the sun to correct this problem but nothing cured it. My Pcv valve works fine and its hooked to the carb base from the right valve cover and the oil fill is on the left cover
not sure this is your problem but its something to check!!

Nice talking with you last night at the cruise Jimmy and glad to to see you enjoying your very pretty fastback. I like the colour and the nice job on the paintwork.
The part you need is available from CJ Pony, part # 6892F around 6 bucks which includes the grommet to convert the "twist in" to "push in" and the PCV grommet for the other side..
If I remember correctly I also used RTV when I installed that grommet on my engine.
, just a bit more insurance on a good seal.
Make sure you order a push "in" breather rather than the push "on" version, they have both.
