Re: FYIFORD Member needs some moral support

Ya know Bob, we had that talk bout things we can do together. N'I said,  "We could drive the Vert up there, N' you direct me to do the EFI warin, & stuff." The unsaid part is, Ms. Karol & I could drive up there, N' you & me could just as easy help Ms. Jean get her coupe on the road.
I knew I shoulda called.
I had once uppon a time suggested we hold the Bash at a location, we (the visitors) could all help a fellow FYI'er get some things done.

Re: FYIFORD Member needs some moral support

Hey BB, A couple of hours a day is as much as I can ever get done.  Do what you can.. prioritize to get it to the bash and back. That's all you need to get done this year.

How blessed is a guy who has so many willing, helpful friends.  Man, I don't feel worthy.

The car is really pretty close, Corky.  I 'm confident that it will be going down the road by the end of June...maybe sooner.  Actually, it could now if I had a milk crate to set on.  That should give me plenty of time to work out any kinks...in the car AND in my old tired carcass.

I think MS got the idea that I was losing my enthusiasm but that's just not so.  I was just telling him  how I had gone over a week without touching the car...due to various mishaps.

Thanks for all the encouragement and offers of help, guys.  Like I keep telling the newbys...this is the best place on the web.   Now please, quit worrying about the old man and get busy getting your own cars road worthy.  I'd love to see us fill the parking lot in Wemberley but failing that, I know  we'll fill the lobby and that's what's important.

You can worry about me when you hear me say, "I think I'll just sell it!".

BB

Slow and steady wins the race, right BB. Keep plugging away, but don't plug too hard.

BB - take your time and let it heal.  I'm sure, like the rest of us, sitting around, especially when there are things to be done, drives you crazy ... get better soon.

Without pix it didn't happen.   LOL

I am making headway.  Over the weak-end I managed to get all the new side glass bedded into its respective channels...that's an interesting project.  Also, got a start on figuring out what I need in the way of AC hoses.  Laying low right now but I hope to get door and quarter windows in the car later this week.

I forgot to mention that in the middle of everthing else, my shop compressor motor went up in smoke.  Got a new one shipped in a week ago but will have to have a friend come over and help with the swap....I ain't liftin' that sucker now.

Thanks again guys for the all good words, can't wait for those pix of JKB to be posted.

Later....BB

Thanks Hakan...made my day.

Actually, Steve is home.......watching it rain, again.

I was at Glen's attending his spark plug changing "summer camp".......it's a grueling program but could prove beneficial.
Anyway, I decided to sport my spark plug changing contest attire for this year's Bash.......Hakan leaked the photo so, everyone just act surprised a the Bash.....

Re: FYIFORD Member needs some moral support

Hope your feeling better Bob.
2009 when I broke my back in Mexico my 68 just came back from the body shop and I was in that turtle shell for six months. My wife put 4 sheets over the car and said don't go in the garage. Well she went to work and came home early and guess what she found me in the garage on the floor on the creeper.
I know how you feel worked on the car for 4 years and then couldn work on it for six months. Just remember Bob your health comes first, but sometimes we thing the stang should be first.

Re: FYIFORD Member needs some moral support

I wish I could do more than offer encouragement.  If I was nearby, I'd help as best I can.

I also have back issues, but mine is kind of bizarre.  I can lift a refridgerator on a pickup myself and have zero pain.  No pain the rest of the day, that night, next moring.  But about 24 hours after I over extend, it feels like someone comes up and knifes me in the small of my back.  Can barely walk for 5 days and have pain and stiffness for 4 to 6 weeks.  I over extended yesterday (self employed, no real choice) and dread mid afternoon today.
