Re: smog pumpless Serpentine belt

I suggest contacting either Late Model Restoration (LMR), or Gates.

Re: smog pumpless Serpentine belt

Why not wrap a piece of cord around it and get a measurement and go to the local/friendly Poop Boys (or wherever) and find a belt that length. Any parts monkey worth "two-hoots-in-hell" can  figure it out knowing the length you need.

Sal - finding true parts guys by me is hard to find, they need to look at the computer to tell them anything.  I typically get a blank look if I tell them it is a custom application.  None of them seem to have any sense, and most won't let you behind the counter to find what you're looking yourself.
Just saying ...

Re: smog pumpless Serpentine belt

Typically, the last three or four digits in the belt part number equals the length in inches. I just bought a belt to fit that same configuration at OReilly.  Installed it on the 54 F100 serpentine system that came out of the 89 Mark VII. Now I have installed a little different alternator and have to get a longer belt.
The length will vary depending on which alternator is used. I am now using a GM one wire alternator that is larger than the Mustang alternator previously mounted, and the belt needs to be 3" longer.

Re: smog pumpless Serpentine belt

I went through this with my modified AC mount on the "Standard" 5.0 front dress from the Town Car that I use in the Mustang.  Car Quest belt numbers do reflect the length of the belt.  In my case I needed to go a bit shorter and it was pretty easy.  On serpentine pulleys Mom's cloth sewing tape measure...or two stapled together...work great for measuring belt length.

Re: smog pumpless Serpentine belt

Roslo
Glad to help.
As an FYI to you, the duralast number is broken down to mean: 845 = 84.5 inches
The K6 means this is a six rib serp belt..........
Just some more semi useless information in this ed-jew-ba-kay-shun process..........

Keep the questions coming....we'll help
