Anyone have a source for instrument lights?

I have been looking for some of these light sockets like the 65-68 Mustangs used.    I have searched everywhere I could think of.  Surely somebody or some company has some.  In desperation, I bought some of the replacement sockets from CJPony.  What a joke they are!  If you touch them, they pop out of the hole they supposedly snapped into.  Ever try getting a gauge cluster in a dashboard without touching at least one bulb?  The replacements only have four clips instead of the factory's six, and of course, they are made out of that Chinese steel that bends if you stare at it hard enough.  Maybe when our new prez gets things straightened out, it will be profitable enough for somebody to make some good ones in the USA.

Re: Anyone have a source for instrument lights?

I buy a bunch of stuff through Del City for work. Their products are usually in stock and ship out same day if you call early enough in the day. The stuff I buy is decent quality however I have no experience with their light socket pigtails.

Re: Anyone have a source for instrument lights?

I have bought some light sockets from Del City and the quality was good. One thing I did see was that the mounting fingers seemed to be in "fully retracted" position on arrival, so every socket had to be adjusted to the specific hole it was going into.

I like the look of those sockets in the Yesterday's Parts catalog.

Re: Anyone have a source for instrument lights?

Those are for 3/4" hole.  Need for 5/8".  I will check out the rest of their site.  Maybe they have them.  Thanks.

Re: Anyone have a source for instrument lights?

These are total garbage.  Sold by CJPony, Summit and others.  If you sneeze, they will fall out of the hole they are clipped into.  Even after careful manipulation of the grip fingers, they still fall out since they are made of cheap Chinese metal.

Thanks for those other links.  That looks like exactly what I need.

Re: Anyone have a source for instrument lights?

Surprise...
OReilly's has the metal ones that are pretty close to the originals.  Not in the store, and certainly not within the reality of anyone that works there.  Found them online and they got them from the warehouse the same day.   Actually pretty good quality and reasonably priced.

Now, Steve... you don't honestly expect those guys to actually know about the products they're selling do you?
