Re: Will a 351W with exhaust manifolds drop in a 70 FB

The 351W was first put into the Mustangs in '69 and the 351C in 1970. The engine bays were designed to accommodate a 390/428 FE starting in 1967.

A 351W with stock exhaust manifolds in a '70 Mustang should be no problem.

Re: Will a 351W with exhaust manifolds drop in a 70 FB

I think he is asking if the 351 can be installed through the top of the engine bay with the exhaust manifolds already installed.

If multiple things can go wrong, the one that will go wrong will be the one that causes the most damage.

Actually, you could get a two barrel 351w in '70.  That's where I go mine.  Both 2&4 barrels came on Clevelands.

An FE with manifolds installed, will drop in a 67 .... so I'm going with yes.

Re: Will a 351W with exhaust manifolds drop in a 70 FB

A 351w with stock manifolds will even drop into the narrower 66-66 body. It definitely fits in a 70. The factory installed the engines with the manifolds bolted to the heads. You can actually even do it without removing the factory export braces.
