Wheel studs for rear disc break conversion?

1966 Mustang Coupe

I ordered dorman 210-619 axle studs for my rear axles performing a rear disc break conversion.

These don't seem right.  The thread is right, the length is right, but the base shaft seems too tall.  Anyone replaced the rear axle studs in a disc break conversion?  What studs did you use?

I purchased Dorman 610-358 studs, 1/2"-20, they are 2" long however the last 1/4" is not threaded (a slightly smaller diameter to center the lug nut), and the knurled end is about 3/8".
I haven't installed these yet as I wanted a full 2" of thread.
I have Torque-Thrust wheels so I need a longer length.
Depending on your wheel's thickness these may work for you.


65 Fastback, 351W, 5-speed, 4 wheel discs, 9" rear,  R&C Front End.

610-368, or 610-441, which is a little longer than the 368.

Rear disc conversions require the extra length either of these provides, due to the rotor being thicker than the drum.

Both available through mustangsteve.

Not sure what you're running but I don't think those will work on stock axles. I'd double check the knurl diameter on those.  They are listed as having a knurl diameter of .612.  The stock axles use .625 knurl diameter.  610-368 has .627 and are about .375 longer length over stock.

I'm running spacers w/ built in wheel studs so I only need slightly more engagement for the thicker disc rotors.
