I broke my own laws several times recently...

I sold my 2017 GT350.

Bought a foreign car. (Breaking of first rule, no foreign cars)
Got a 2018 four cylinder BMW 413i X drive convertible (Breaking of V8 rule).
At least it has rear wheel drive, actually all wheel drive, but rear wheels do most of the work.

Roads around here have max 60 mph limits and are single lane each way.
Twisty turny hill country roads, with very few passing zones.
Locals drive AT LEAST five mph under the speed limit.
More fun to drive a slow car fast than driving a fast car slow.
MFA did not fit the Recarro seat very comfortably.
Yes, I am on drugs.
No, it is not April 1.

Re: I broke my own laws several times recently...

Glad to see you got something you can use. BMW’s are fun cars, but they want to be TOUCHED!! I think it goes with the ultimate driving experience!

Re: I broke my own laws several times recently...

What did you buy?

430ix?

Did you open the hood and count spark plugs yet?  Straight 6s are kind of BMW’s thing.

Congrats on the car, as much crap gets talked about BMWs they are actually fun, predictable handling cars.  If I was going to buy a car right now and had different spending habits it would probably be a BMW M2 comp.

Seriously! Although I bet the same could be said for the GT-350.

Re: I broke my own laws several times recently...

Turns out it is a 430i X Drive convertible. Shows what I know about them. If’n I could see any spark plugs, I would guess there are four under there.
Not. A 413, as previously posted.

I think instead of commenting, Im going to steal the picture of your former Shelby, and find some way to put it my facebook page.   Shelbys and pink flamingos.

Those straight 6 bmw's have a ton of torque and are pretty much fool proof. The turbo models on the other hand...

Re: I broke my own laws several times recently...

No shame in that!   I bought fords in late 80s and early 90s with nothing but troubles.  Went to GM from Mid 90s to 2005.  I bought extended warranties on all of them and used it and more.  AC compressors, Head Gaskets, Intake Gaskets, Wheel Bearings.  After 100K it was on my dime.  The Head gaskets were done X2 on my Vans and 2 of my Cars.  Im driving KIA for my daily drivers now.  There not a muscle car for sure but I get to work with no break downs and I get there safely.  Id buy a Silverado, F150 and Mustang.  That would be the only late model I would consider by Ford or GM.

Re: I broke my own laws several times recently...

Had to repair blown head gasket on my sister's BMW. 5 headbolts came out with the threads from the block. Neighbor came over to see who was swearing in German. Told her that BMW stood for Bavarian Manure Wagon. They are a nice car though especially when they're still under warranty!

Re: I broke my own laws several times recently...

Since the 80’s BMW has had the series followed by displacement.  I wonder why they made the decision to give up on that standard?  Has to be a status thing...

I stand corrected in the engine.  That would be a fun 4cyl to get from a wrecking yard and stuff in a 70’s BMW 2002.

How’s the car treating you?

Re: I broke my own laws several times recently...

We’ve hauled plenty of stuff in Sheryl’s 325. She picked up a truck lid and brought it home. It was a winter day and she had to have the top down. Glad it has seat warmers!! We also have a picture around here somewhere of bringing home the bamboo plants. They were about 8’ y’all. Got all kinds of looks on the way home. Bought 4 and had to make 2 trips.
