Have you priced 15” BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires lately?

215x70/15, best price I found is $127.99!!!  You can buy a Z rated 17” T/A for $89.00!!
And the 15” tires are not that great a tire. They just happen to look alot better than most other fifteens.

And several places mention a Coker tire version of the BFG T/A tire in 15”. What is up with that?

I finally got around to decoding the date codes of the tires on my “new” hobby car. They are 20 years old!  Probably time to replace them.  They are also BFG T/A

I feel your pain. I'm in the same boat. My 68's tires, while looking almost new, are 12 years old. I've looked for the same tire (Toyo Proxes) in 245/45/R17, and can't find the same tire at Discount Tire. I originally bought them from a Les Schwab store, but Schwab is really more expensive than a lot of places. Can anyone recommend a like tire in a different brand that doesn't cost a fortune?

The $127 was Jeg’s !!!  Other tires in same 15” size are reasonable.

Re: Have you priced 15” BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires lately?

I got new tires last year and switched from TA's to Cooper. I didn't like the TA's traction and started comparing notes, the Coopers were cheaper and review as to having more tractionand I think they do. So far I like them better. I don't care that they don't have that vintage look, they are close enough.

Re: Have you priced 15” BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires lately?

I was at a crossroads recently with tires and rims... In the end I went with Dunlops... seem great so far. I got a real deal on mine.
When I looked into BF Goodrich, I heard a rumor they went offshore and the quality of the tire is not what it used to be.

Interesting you say this... I was hearing negative comments too and was told the tires are not US made any more.

Re: Have you priced 15” BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires lately?

I see the BFG T/A listed as a Coker tire.  They make reproductions.
I am going to run them as blackwalls, so lettering is not important. I just don’t want tires that have snowtire-like look.
Size is 215x70/15, not a 17” like several have posted. Seventeens are easy and cheap to find.
I do want a USA made tire.   Will look into Coopers.

There is absolutely no need to listen to rumors. Just get the DOT code off of the tire and find a decoder online. The DOT code tells you exactly which factory made the tire.
