automatic, it shows 33,xxx miles but who knows how many times its rolled over. The vinyl top is in excellent condition but the passenger side vert top frame is broken. The interior is completely out of the car except for the drivers seat. It wreeks of mouse piss. Tires are brand new 10 year olds!! starting a list of needs, so far the top frame seems to be the hardest to find

Congrats on the find Terry! Hey, I just want to throw this out there, if you want to get into the parting out business. Because finding that top frame is going to be expensive most likely. I just happened to see a 1989 LX convertible on facebook marketplace in the STL area. They are asking 2000> It looks to be a whole running halfway decent looking car. Might have a complete interior. Part out the rest? Just thinking outloud...
Greg
Edit: I am trying to post a link. Have no idea if this will work.

THANKS GREG!! I contacted her about going to look at it. As soon as I return from the Bash I will head to so st louis county and look at it. its in the 255 /telegraph area I believe it would have all the parts I need to fix this 87 and part out the rest!!

If you get it and its rust free there's one section of the body I'd be interested in: right side door pillar (behind the fender).

The top frame on my 90 was broken. I fixed it with some patch plates made of aluminum, jb weld and pop rivets. It worked fine. Key thing is to make sure all pivot points actually will pivot!
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
