The man who continued the development of the Mustang after Henry Ford II said no. May he rest in peace. Thanks, Lee!

Yep. RIP
If not for him, this forum would not exist, we would not know each other, and we would all have had to find some other expensive hobby to pursue. No telling where that would have wound up!
Thanks, Lee!

We would probably all like Cougars or something!
Rip. Mr. Iacocca. Your stamped signature was on all my first real paychecks.

An icon in an industry of icons. The Mustang was not only an amazing, forward thinking car, but it had everyone else playing catch up, well, forever. Talk about a guy who could read the market.
And really, he did it twice, because if not for him there would be no Chrysler, no Dodge, no Ram. They were totally in the toilet and he birthed the K car. For sure not as exciting as the Mustang, but probably at least as impactful, if not even more so. The Dodge Caravan created the word minivan. What would soccer moms drive if not for him? That K car chassis went into tons of stuff, and they even had some variants with turbos that were sporty for their day, and started people thinking that cars that got decent fuel economy didn't have to suck.
Its truly a loss to the entire hobby. So few of the old guard are left, and often we forget about them until they pass. RIP sir, and when you get to heaven my grandfather has a new boat he's designing, and he could use your help.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
