Anyone got an A arm stop tool for the 64 mustang (that’ll work with a Shelby drop) ?
Let me borrow it please .. Esp in the dfw area or I’ll pay shipping ..
I want to change out my lower control arms , and I don’t want to take apart of the UCA abs springs ..
Let me know

Your shock will be your stop tool. I have done this job. You don't need any special tool, just leave the shock in place. It controls the travel of the suspension.

A chain would work as well.
Way back when I tried using the shock as the suspension stop and things did not turn out well. The pressure of the springs caused the bottom mount on the shock to break off. Scared the crap out of me when it let go. I was not near the car when it happened.

A couple of 1” spacers under the top shock mount works quite well.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
