console for 67 shelby clone

I'm building a Shelby clone and want a nice console.  Been looking at the one from Mustangs to fear which are real nice but start at almost $900.

Found this one at Mustangs unlimited but the only one for the 67 is for an automatic trans.  I'm running TKO 600 five speed.  I'm wondering if I could make this work since I have to have a shifter boot anyway.  This one is marked down 55%.  What do you guys think about this console ?

Re: console for 67 shelby clone

That will work. Just expand the hole and let the lowest rib of the boot overlap the edges

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

Re: console for 67 shelby clone

You got me looking around and I found quite a deal on an engine assembly. It's a steal...literally. I tried to put one in my "cart" but it said it would be backordered...

Re: console for 67 shelby clone

Using a 66 console in mine that was made for automatic tranny. I just wallered-out the hole until my shifter didn't bang on the console. Works great!!

This is what I used in my 65.  I was able to cut it for A/C console with portable bandsaw.  The trim piece covers the cut anyway.  I used painters tape at cut to minimize scratching and chrome flaking.

There are options for later years as well.
Hope this helps.
