I'm building a Shelby clone and want a nice console. Been looking at the one from Mustangs to fear which are real nice but start at almost $900.
Found this one at Mustangs unlimited but the only one for the 67 is for an automatic trans. I'm running TKO 600 five speed. I'm wondering if I could make this work since I have to have a shifter boot anyway. This one is marked down 55%. What do you guys think about this console ?

That will work. Just expand the hole and let the lowest rib of the boot overlap the edges

Using a 66 console in mine that was made for automatic tranny. I just wallered-out the hole until my shifter didn't bang on the console. Works great!!

This is what I used in my 65. I was able to cut it for A/C console with portable bandsaw. The trim piece covers the cut anyway. I used painters tape at cut to minimize scratching and chrome flaking.
There are options for later years as well.
Hope this helps.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
