Reusable parts? 65 Falcon in-line 6

Hi all. Had a few questions that are Falcon related but was told this was the place to come and ask.

Looking to do the 302 conversion and want to tackle the steering and suspension up front first. I’ve already been looking and pricing out the steering linkage and know what I need.

As far as upper and lower arms go what is the difference between V8 and 6? Are the components just beefier or would my stock 6 ones work (would replace ball joints and shaft on uppers)? Also how could I tell the difference between a V8 control arm by just looking at it? I picked up a 65 8” rear and the guy gave me upper and lower arms from a v8, but they look fairly identical to the ones on my car now. I also received v8 coil springs from him but don’t know how I’m suppose to identify if they really are.

Re: Reusable parts? 65 Falcon in-line 6

I’m not experienced with actual hands on working on Falcons.  Another one of my favorites though.

I looked on Rock Auto and did comparisons between 65 Falcon  170ci and 289 ci control arms. 65 mustang with 289ci uses same control arm as well.  Shows same part numbers.

I looked at Moog upper control arms only. (Same-Same comparisons).

Same arms. Only steering linkage is different.
