Too much Japanese influence in the styling. I prefer the DNA of the previous model, and there is no substitute to the sound of a V8

Nope, Colorado uses Magnesium Chloride most of the time and I hate the stuff (A liquid SALT). Really icy conditions may get a sand/salt mixture on bridges, etc.
As for the 2005/6 GT we saw, it has not snowed for 3 weeks so the roads are pretty salt/sand free. Oh, the snow plow just went up the street while I type. We also saw a 69 Camaro as we pulled out of Costco.
My Mustang is in the heated stables till sometime in the spring.

Colorado started using salt on the roads in 2016, with predictable results: melted ice and lots of complaints about vehicle corrosion. They have tested molasses and beet juice but they failed the “killing the fish in the streams” test. The preferred road salt is now magnesium chloride, less corrosive than sodium chloride. They like the MgCl so much they spray it on dirt roads in the summer to hold down the dust.
Even the city of Dallas spreads salt on the roads to prevent icing (remember the icy Super Bowl at Jerry World?). If it’s cold and you see a tank truck in the DFW area dropping liquid on the roads, it’s salt brine, so take the good car home and get out the beater until it rains.

I'm not sure where you got your information, but Colorado has been using mag chloride on state highways since the early 2000's. If it's turns really cold they sand/salt the roads.

Once you've already done the retro look thing it leaves nowhere to go. Its why I thought the first retro styled Mustangs also looked the best, because they were truest to the originals. So you either continue to build the same car essentially forever (why they won't I can't say, its worked really well for Porsche), or you say "this is our supercar and its going to be competitive with the other supercars out there". Domestically the new Vettes are now mid engine, so the competition just got considerably stiffer. Plus, the original GTs were Ferrari beaters (just like the GT40s), so that's the bar now and its higher than it was 15 years ago.
The new look reminds me of a real blast from the past: The Vector Avtech. It had a lower drag coefficient than a Lear jet in the early '90s.

Colorado Department Of Transportation web site stated they began using salt on roads in 2016. Maybe they used it earlier and quit using it, then started using it again in 2016? My research is only as good as my sources and CDOT is a government agency, so I’m playing my Get Out Of Jail Free card on this one.

I had the chance to see the new GT heritage model not to long ago. The same owner has an 06 gun metal gray GT. A friend of mine has a nice black 06 GT. Both models are beautiful machines but i kind of lean towards the 06 model more so than the newer one.
