Several years ago I had the pleasure of viewing John Aztbach's museum in Issaquah, Washington and it is truly something to see. It is housed in a very non-de script warehouse on a side street in downtown Issaquah (about 18 miles east of Seattle). John gave a large group from my club, Mustangs Northwest, a personal guided tour of his museum, and he talked at length about all things Shelby. The museum is comprised of several large rooms with one room full of cases of Shelby memorabilia, one very large room full of Shelby cars with an upstairs full of more memorabilia and a very large model car display, and another room reserved for his Lamborghini cars. At our club's Roundup People's Choice event the day after our tour, we were celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Shelby Mustang. John brought several of his most valuable Shelbys to the show for display. Needless to say, they were a big hit - as I'm sure that not everyone at the show realized just how special these cars were, and just how generous John was to allow those priceless cars to be driven the 15 miles to our show in Bellevue that day. It breaks my heart that he has put up his collection for sale, for I have heard that the reason is that he is having some very serious health issues. I will be watching in July to see how the auction goes.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
