Well before the engine went south I managed to get somewhat comfortable with making changes to the ECM calibration via Tuner-Pro and Motes Quarter Horse. So.....I decided that while I was at it I might as well swap the AOD for a 4R70W and the A9L computer for the '94 W4H0, all of which will require a bit of rewiring, re-pinouting, and re-calibrating.
I have decided that this project is like my old huntin' buddy used to say about eating bear meat....the more you chew it the bigger it gets and pretty soon you can't swallow it or spit it out.
Oh, and after all the fun stuff is done I'm gonna install a new exhaust system.

You've gotta be more comfortable than me. I Think, If you use Decipha's CBAZA swap wiring instructions, you lose CANP, which I know you wanna keep. Might wanna check with him.
I'm pretty sure though that ya don't need no stoopid instructions!
Edit, I'm gunna be goin' on a state mustang club run on Wed, so that I can run some logs and try to dial in my shift schedule.
It's sorta funny that we've been to more Bashs, than club runs ...

Online!
You’ll have to have a class workshop at next bash for us young uns.
Guess you’re living up to your motto....
To "Do It Right Once" you must first be prepared to "Do it Over"...and over...and sometimes over again.

You can do it Bobby!

Well, I just broke my EFI connector and I only have one left. Going on Amazoon to see if I can order a couple. Moving pins in those things is a fine science....especially if they have been heat cycled a few times.

Barry;
Decipha's A9L to CBAZA swap is a quicki to allow you to only change three pins and then adjust the firing order and the injector port order. If that's all you do, yes, will will have to shut down CANP along with the secondary air, EVP and some other things. However, I don't see why you couldn't swap pin 31 to pin 11 and keep CANP, which is what I intended to do. Then I just decided to change the entire pinout to the CBAZA. Then I broke the lock on Pin 11, then I got PO'd, then I decided to stop messing around with the 60 pin connector since I only had one good one left in the EFI box. So I made up a short patch cable with the 60 pin and some Delphi connectors, of which I have plenty...and terminals which are readily available. Tomorrow I'll install all the Delphi mates to the harness and then I can change the ECM or mess with the pin-outs at the Delphi connectors...on the bench instead of under the dash. Gotta be easier and safer...those 60 pin connectors are gettin' hard to come by, and expensive.
Have a great cruise, post pix, and let me know how the shift schedule works out....not looking forward to that...if I ever get the car back on the road.

Naw, I'm thinkin' 331/T5. And stuff an 8.8 center section from a MK 8 or something in the rear to handle the gogetum. Of course if he did EFI it that would be nice...and he'd actually have to learn something. But, let's not get our hopes too high. LOL
I know all is not perfect with you guys, Barry but I hope all is at least livable. Hugs to Leonie, our best to you both.

I'm gunna predict that he replaces the gasket and fluids, drives it for awhile, falls in love with the turbo, starts thinkin' bout a bigger turbo, (bigger IS better), of course, that's gunna need tuning .... now he's in the same territory.

Could happen...he's not a wuss.
