NPD door fit

I bought a new door from NPD, not the heavy duty door.  The fit is better than I expected.  I was told the vent window is the trouble area.  My gaps are great and the body lines to the ford front fender and aftermarket quarter panel look great.  Again better than expected.  The vent is out of adjustment moving towards the windshield pillar.  I also had to open up the hole for the door handle screw.    I’m so happy with that that I may buy a passenger side door.  But my passenyside door only needs one patch do I will more than likely patch it.

The body lines are great. The only spot that is off on the fender is the top edge by the windshield pillar.  And to me it’s not off enough for me to worry about it. The gap isn’t super even.

I do plan on patching my passenger side door.  Other than the one patch it’s a really clean door.

Re: NPD door fit

Does it have after market fenders?
I have found a 'tell' on a lotta Mustangs.............
If the fender and the door are after market it seems like the gap(you just mentioned) is sorta/kinda big. Just not a nice close gap like from factory.
I hammered/beat/massaged/fiberglassed/tweeked/bent/torqued/coaxed/altered/adjusted/shimmed/doctored/cussed/moved/bondo-ded/
warped/twisted and finally accepted my big crack. As we age I guess....big cracks are not so much of an issue as when we were not old.

No both my fenders are factory ford fenders.

Re: NPD door fit

This is nice to no my drivers side door on my 1965 coupe needs a really big patch. I was debating new door shells or using a door skin as my piece for my patch in my door.

Re: NPD door fit

I vote for a patch if the doors are FoMoCo. It's really hard to get the after market stuff to fit as well as the factory stuff.........even a full skin. I dun'em both.
I will suggest..........while your in the door...... to enlarge the drain holes and also clean and spray inside with truck bed liner. Helps with the road noise and most Mustangs left the factory with ZERO paint/primer on the inside of the doors.
Just raw metal.

I've bought a number of patch panels from NPD.  They were all very good.  Fitted well.  Even my body shop commented on their quality.

Not so with the right front fender I bought from Calif Mustang.  The door to fender  match sucked.  They even gave me some money to reduce the cost because it was so bad.  It's still there as I am afraid to get another one.
