Has anyone installed new seals in there 65/66 vent windows and if so did you need this toolto do the job? If the tool is needed, does anyone have one i could rent? Kind of pricey for a one time use item.

I've done mine twice without that high-zoot tool. As I recall, I just drilled out the rivet and use a rivet set/hammer and a small buck held in the bench vise. Probably had help holding the frame over the buck but it seems to work just fine.
If I can find the "special" tools I'll let you know and you can borrow 'em.

I saw a few $15 punch type rivet tools when I was searching this morning. NPD is out of the seal kit but I think they have all the individual pieces.

I need to do this very thing to my vent windows on my 64 falcon, I have been wondering if I couldn't the same thing with a C clamp with the "foot" on the Clamp removed and then the bottom of it trimmed down to fit inside the bottom of the rivet? anyone see an issue with this idea.?

I figured that I had enough money into the vehicle and the seal would likely last longer than I would so I went ahead an bought the tool, set the rivets, and then sold the tool for less than I bought it. I viewed it as a tool rental. BTW, the tool works well.

I have time to look for a tool to rent from someone and or figure out another way.

Ages ago I did mine. I didn't buy a tool and don't remember exactly how I did it but I am pretty sure I had the vent window assemblies out of the doors, used my vise as the backing and a hammer (and maybe a large punch) to set the new rivets. No special tools were used - It's lasted at least 20 years.

I used the hand held rivet tool that came with the seal kit and my bench vise. Seamed to work

I used a "C" clamp that I modified to squeeze the rivet. It seems to have worked for the last 10 years or so.

NPD is out of the kits. I wonder if anyone else has the kit with the hand tool. Do you have a picture of the hand held tool?
