My neighbor who is 37 years young just received a mint 71/72 mustang because his grandfather passed and this was his wish. Here's the deal the car has 001621 original miles on it and sat in a showroom for ever

Back in 1973, the San Antonio Ford dealer couldn’t sell a gold 73 convertible, loaded out. It sat in the showroom for many years.

In college I knew a guy who ran a Ford performance shop. He had a BOSS 429 he bought during the gas crunch. It sat on a Ford dealer's lot for a year. Finally he went in and shot them a lowball offer which they immediately took. I think he paid $1,500 for it if memory serves.

Here is the only pic I got tell the car is trucked down from Mt Vernon WA

I wonder if he ever trailered the car to any MCA shows? Mustangs Northwest has held Judged shows at their Roundup event in Bellevue every July for 32 years. I'll bet if he did I might have seen it there. Mt. V is only about 80 miles north of Bellevue.
I wonder what that car could pull in a Mecum or Barrett-Jackson auction? That is, if he wants to sell it.

I think from what I have been told by the son of the dad who owned it is that it sat in a garage all this time and looks as good as the picture. We will see when it arrives next month. He said the factory battery died and they kept it in the work bench.

The harder I worked, the luckier I got.
That's a concept that has pretty well been eradicated by modern political think, I think.

Prostitutes don't need luck. They get paid for a service. At least a hooker is smart enough to know she's being screwed...

Remember that old saying...luck favors the prepared.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
