LMR makes a brand new seat that mimics the Foxbody seats. Not a bad price for a pair:

Thanks. I actually watched that video when I put it together and installed it the same way. Did your t/o bearing have the tear drop shape like the one in the video and my McLeod pictured above or was it like the Ford bearing pictured next to the McLeod in my pic?
Mine looked just like the Mcleod and it was FOMOCO. I didn't use the one in my Valeo clutch kit and purposely went with the Ford. It did not look at all like your Ford one.
I have the Valeo kit one. I will dig it out and see what it looks like

I just changed all this on my 82 when i put in the T5. I used the FOMOCO based on all feedback. There is a correct way to align that ridge on the clutch fork. I followed this video from LMR and have no issues. I don't know if it is the same for your 65 application.

TKO and Val - both great points. I'm just bench racing thru catalogs and that is great info to consider.
A set of good aluminums probably cheaper in long run.
Buy once, Cry once.

summit sells them re-conditioned:
in my neck of the woods, GT40's and GT40P's are going for $400 a set. Trash looking ones $150-250.
I was looking at these at summit as a cheap way of gaining hp's over my stock 1982 heads

Another vote for the vacuum gauge. I have an 82 GT. just took off 2 bl and changed to a QuickFuel 4 barrel. It has 4 corner vacuum adjusting screws. I bought a cheap gauge off Amazon and used it for the first time.
Started the car and it ran "fine". Started adjusting the vacuum. Went from 14 inches to 21 inches of vacuum. Now it runs really fine. There is no gas smell at all.
It is really simple to do. QuickFuel has a couple of install videos that go thru how to do it. If I can do it without any questions, anyone can!

Keep us up to date on the progress. Looks great.
I may start asking you questions if you don't mind - I love the foxbody's but the online community for them tends to be full of Aholes.
I have an 82GT I am working on with my boys. I have spent 2 years driving the wheels off it while collecting parts.
Going to put in 8.8 with 373 gears, T5 out of 89 GT, Dual exhaust, intake and 4 barrel. 82's present a unique challenge as a lot from 87-93 stuff swaps over - a lot doesn't. will be a busy summer!

I would love to take the foxbody stuff off your hands! Let me know how much to ship to Ohio 44077 zip and I'll send you the money.
Thanks so much - Phil

I think that decodes to a 7.5 in built in 1998 18th day of august .
If it is 5 lug, I would bet it came out of ranger or a bronco:

Thanks guys. It is a driver and I have no intentions restoring. My boys will drive it when their old enough.
After spending Sunday morning replacing struts and doing brakes, I told my 8 year old we would go for donuts as a reward. He was in for a surprise when I drove to my work's big open parking lot on a Sunday and did a bunch of donuts. LOL. He loved it.

Hi guys. Recent new member but I have been lurking for years. I had a 65 fastback for 13 years but life and 3 kids forced it to go. I have recently gotten back into the Mustang game to show my 8 and 13 year old boys how to work on cars. Wanted something cheaper, lots of parts available, and road worthy from the jump. I know this sight is for classics but, ended up with an 1982 GT. It was the car I dreamed of in school as a 15 year old waiting for his license.
I know its not the traditional classic mustang but heck - it is 35 years old.
Have had a great summer replacing headliner, door hinges, shocks, brakes, tune up etc... Have loved the time with my boys and especially my 8 year old who is completely bit by the car bug.
I probably wont post much. You guys will forget more than I ever know but will keep reading the sight. A lot of the knowledge shared is not dependent on the year mustang.
Anyway - thanks for having me.
Phil

I will just throw this out there. When my Lincoln weld pac mig started strange wire feed issues that couldnt be corrected by any other means, it turned out to be a kink in the cable liner. The very center core the wire travels through to the MIG tip, it looks a lot like an old throttle cable on a lawn mower.
I think you're on to it Greg. This is worth a try. I was in welding industry for 12 years and dealt with a lot of the small 110 Lincoln units. If the unit is 10 years old, try the new cable liner. Dirt, copper flaking off wire, kink will all lead to feed problems. They are cheap and easy to put in.

Have you tried superbrightleds.com
They have some great stuff and good info on their sight. I have an 82 GT and am on some sights for the fox bodies. Lots of guys only have great things to say about them. Am going to use them when I do my dash lights.
