RPM,
that was a project.  Looks great.  I am also 6'2" and will be installing 71-73 Mustang high back bucket seats.  I did not know that the convertible seat platform is taller than the stock platform.  Definitely do not want to have my head in the headliner.

GPatrick, you have convinced  me to stay away from this platform.  Yes I will be installing torque boxes and the Tinman sub frame connectors. Appreciate your advice.

Thanks for all the suggestions.  The easiest method for me, would be to buy the CJ Pony Parts PN M3535A for $20.  Cut it apart and weld the mounting bracket to the long length of the tray and then bolt it in to the factory 66 style battery apron.

Ron I read your tray post and like that idea

Steve, thanks for all the photos. They help a lot. The battery in your pic looks smaller than a 24F. My rusted out battery apron needs to be replaced.  My thought was just weld in the 67 battery apron and use the 67 tray as well. This will be for servicing the car and not permanent.
Long term goal is installing battery in the trunk using Ford Tempo Diesel battery cable parts. These cars had the battery in the trunk.  This is a junk yard find.

Has anyone welded in a 1967 Mustang battery apron into a 65/66 Mustang?
I want to install the 67 battery apron to turn the battery so I can install to 67-70 24 inch radiator.
Looking for advice and pictures.  Thanks

Nos681,
Car will be mainly used for driving, not racing.  I have the 94-2004 Mustang 5 spokes 17x8 wheels on the car now with spacers.  Eventually the wheel size will be 17x7 probably 225-60-17 tire size.  I don't like balloon sidewall tires. I want the handling to be firm.
I have a set of Granada spindles in the garage but don't like the adverse effects associated with installing them.

Mustang Steve,
I have a 66 coupe with all wheel drum brakes.  I will be using the MS S197 brake kit. I will also lower the car with Shelby drop.  I did want to use the 70 big spindle, but it sounds like I am just adding a lot bumpsteer that would need to be corrected.  I understand I am better off using my original spindles.  My choices are smaller bearing spindles vs large bearing spindles and added bumpsteer.  The large bearing spindles are not worth the headache, correct ?
