The title of the video mentions drag car, but it wasnt built for a dragstrip, hence the lack of a roll cage!

This ones gonna sting for a while. Over the years I have became very close to a couple members on here. Josh being one of them. We first met at the Waxahatchie Bash in 2010. It was both of our first bashes. Since then our friendship has grown to be more like brothers than friends.
Till we meet again Brother!

Monday update from Diana
They just finished doing the ECMO exchange they switched out a line and they redid another art line to measure his blood pressure. His blood pressure looks much better. It was the art line that was malfunctioning, making it look like it was lower and they said the ECMO exchange went perfectly so it looks better. He’s saturating on his oxygen much better 89 to 90 so we’re just gonna kind of leave things as they are and cruise today and let him rest.
He will remain on the paralytic today as well, just to make sure that he does not fight the vent

So.........he is awake/ out of the induced coma !? GREAT !
If so that is a very positive step in the long marathon to get JKB back on his feet and under a Mustang.
We are praying EVERY day for his recovery.

He is still in a induced coma, Diana said to talk to him just as if he was awake. She stated that she has had ICU patients say they remember what people said to them while they were out.

Just returned home after a trek to Grand Rapids to see Josh, He continues to be in critical condition but I believe he was upgraded to stable. He continues to improve ever so slightly each day. This is going to be a marathon.. He is going to be down for quite a while.
The authorities have ruled out the lumber for his garage as being the source but instead think it is in the soil around part of his house where he had some concrete removed at the front porch. He had a backhoe remove the concrete then he leveled out the dirt by hand and placed stepping stones. The fact that he had been exposed to the fungus was harmless in itself but then he contracted covid which kicked his immune system and allowed the fungus to attack.
Please continue to pray for his recovery and for Diana who has barely left his side. This will be a long road for both.

UPDATE ON JKB
While I had first reported that he had Covid Pneumonia, I have learned over the last few days the Josh had contracted Blastomycosis. Google it!! This is a very serious illness that came to light recently at a paper mill in Escanaba, Mi.
Funny how things work in our society. After I posted about Josh being sick and hospitalized, I received a text from another member of this forum with information about this fungus at the paper mill and the fact that Josh had been building a new garage and around lots of lumber. I passed on this information to Diana and she then discussed it with the Doctors. They ran some tests and discovered this fungus. He had also contracted Covid during a cruise he took to Alaska last month. Apparently the covid had knocked his immune system down enough to allow what would normally not be a big deal to take over his body. If this member wants to be known it's up to them. I have expressed mine and Josh's family's sincere gratitude for sharing this information with this member.
From Diana:
He is critical but semi-stable meaning he bounces up and down on labs and vitals/oxygenation. He is septic, trying to support him enough to give antibiotics and antifungals time to work.
He is very puffy from third space fluid issues, but, his intravascular is very dry so it’s like juggling several balls in the air.
This is all I know Everyone. Please continue to pray, keep faith and wait with expectancy.

No real update today, he continues to be very critical and on a vent as well as heavy meds.
PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR HEALING
