All that at 4,500 rpm.

The pre Turbo numbers looked pretty good, I would like to see the power curve for that combination. It would make a nice cruiser motor for an old F100,and you know the motor is stout and would last a long time if it held up to the Boost.
I know a lot of folks don't like the inlines for different reasons, but I like the sound and the smooth low RPM torque delivery. I would love to build a 65-66 F100 with this motor and a 5-speed as my errand runner.

Now, if my 250 pulled 3/4 of those numbers and sounded like that, FOR LESS THAN MY 331 COST, I would be interested. But, I am not afraid mine is going to blow up every time I floor it. Â

That was impressive. Would be great to know how long one could live under those conditions.

With 7 main bearings, probably for quite a while.
Think there might be a failure elsewhere first…like a piston.

Piston upgrade would be easy if that's all it took to make it last.

REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
