Re: hummmmm interesting I ordered two,,,

Be aware that anything over .030” oversized can cause your muffler to run hot.

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

Better knurl the muffler heavily.

Thought it should have been B&S Autoparts.

Re: hummmmm interesting I ordered two,,,

I think tapered roller bearings would hold up better.

This is a good point about using tapered bearings, but the inherent problem is the large amount of tolerance from the factory.  I think the way to solve it would be some tapered sleeve insert bushings such as are used on Granada spindle conversions.  Then those tapered bearings with work great with the proper preload, of course.

If multiple things can go wrong, the one that will go wrong will be the one that causes the most damage.

Yeah, gotta shim them a bit tighter than factory spec.  I like about 0.003" preload.

I used to tell new apprentices to go down to the tool crib and ask them for an extended wait.

I could only come up with a spool of slip stream, but I did find my bucket of prop wash.

Upgrade to jet wash.  It works much better.

Yeah, I think prop wash is lighter, for the small jobs.
