Re: COULD this actually work???!

I think all it would do would be to fill the combustion chamber with stinky confetti.

1968 T-code Coupe with a 302.  Nice car, no show stopper for sure, but I like it.

Re: COULD this actually work???!

Doubtful it would work.  Sounds like a good way to make a minor problem into a bigger problem.  You want to unstick a stuck piston?  Pour Coke into it and let it sit overnight.  It dissolves all the rust due to the phosphoric acid in it.

Re: COULD this actually work???!

Along those line, we used “bug juice” to clean brass   And bronze…citric acid with flavor and color.

When I was cleaning the 8” differential housing, I took the axle tag and covered both side with Ketchup and wrapped in small piece of paper towel stored in a ziplock sandwich bag.

Removed a lot of the old dried up grease/gear oil on the tag.  It was rusty too and stampings were faint.

Reapplied several times over the course of a couple of weeks….just playing around.

Gotta remember to show the grandkids that trick.😁

Re: COULD this actually work???!

I am thinking a firecracker in one cylinder of a v8 would not have enough BOOM to move a piston in any v8 engine even if all eight were able to move freely.

Re: COULD this actually work???!

Old Lanz tractors were started with a shotgun shell.   But my favorite tractor was the

Hoyt-Clagwell.   Seemed to be a one off model that had a loose wheel and a mind of its own!

If multiple things can go wrong, the one that will go wrong will be the one that causes the most damage.

Re: COULD this actually work???!

I can’t believe someone thought that would work.  Glad they don’t work on anything I own.
