The carburetor was bought used and it’s been sitting for over a year. I’ll rebuild it and then I’m sure it will idle and rev correctly. It’s just nice to hear it fire up. Now if I can remember where I put the carb rebuild kit.

Nice engine, but scratch one brand new water pump seal. Doesn’t running it dry like that ruin the seal since it has no water to lube/cool it?

MS I do not have the belt on so no accessories are spinning.
Bearing Bob I am old at 55 and I’m considered over weight during my check ups. They tell me being 172 puts me over the 170 limit for my age and height. Lol
I rebuilt the carb and it ran much better but still had a backfire. I doubled check my plug wires and yes I had two crossed. She idles very well.
