Torque Thrust wheels

What is best wheel size and back space on them I am wanting a 16  mainly because I have a new 215x55x16 and 225x55x16 tires.   Was thinking 16x7 front and 16x8 rear but was not sure about the back space.

wanting to get rid of spacers

Re: Torque Thrust wheels

My 15x7 Torq-Thrusts have 3-3/4” backspacing with 225/60 tires, no issues.  If anything, they could use a little more backspacing.

Re: Torque Thrust wheels

For some reason I’m thinking you need 4.25 or maybe 4.5.   I would look up the wheel chart that’s floating around on the net.

Re: Torque Thrust wheels

I ran 16x7 on my 67 coupe for a while with 4" backspacing  Think i had 225's in front and 245 in rear with no problems,

Re: Torque Thrust wheels

Hey Billy,
If it were me... I would stick to either 15" or 17" rims, because I'm hearing that tire options will start becoming less for the 16s. I kind of went through this when I ditched my 14s. I spoke to tire shops and the consensus is that 15s and 17s are the best if you want good tire options.
Totally up to you though...

Re: Torque Thrust wheels

Also keep in mind that mods/ lowering suspension makes for fender  clearance issues.

I cant find anything in 16x7 with 4.25 back space......crazy
I have new tires on my 16's on the car now is main reason wanting to stay with 16 .....I guess I can go ahead and buy a set of 17's and when I need tires again I will be half way there lol
