The man I am using to do my paint body work just picked this GT up and is willing to let it go for $4500. This is located East of Dallas near a little tiny town called Elmo. If anyone is interested I can connect them up with him. I didn't want to post this in the Swap Meet section because I am not the person selling I can only connect you to the man who has it. I think if someone was to walk up with 4K they could pick it up.
He also had a Hood Scoop and a Eleanor front bumper that he picked up in the deal.
Car is almost 100 percent, it did have slight damage in front end. But it does have all the GT parts that come with it. Right now I am in Afghanistan so my internet connection is sporadic, I will try to answer any questions or connect you with Shawn.

Do you have any drivetrain specs? C4 or standard. Any condition of cowl and floorpans?

Glens this is a quick picture I took when I walked around the car. He told me but I forgot. I was actually there checking on my car and saw that he had this. My first thought was BUY IT!!!!, but then I am still working on my first one. So second thought was getting some information to pass onto this forum.
I will send Shawn an email and ask. Maybe the picture will tell you.

Thanks Much.

It looks like a solid 4 speed car and it's been on CL for about 3 weeks now. I'm really surprised he hasn't sold it yet.

I have not seen it on craigslist ????? Do you have a link? Here is a much nicer, much better deal for someone wanting a 66 coupe. He only wants $8k and it is built real nice with same owner for over 20 years.

Here's his latest post on CL.

I have to agree with him! everytime i have put an ad on CL , all i get is either spam or some cheapskate who wants my item for free, I myself will not sell on CL!!!

Steve I just sent you an email with contact info.
Shawn bought it off of someone who had listed it for a little while on CL. I guess he was the first to legitimately show up with cash, so he got a decent deal. He claims he is going to rebuild it as a show car for his shop, but I know that cash talks louder to him.

Good eye, Ernest. I just took them at their description that is was a GT. I saved the picture and made it lighter and sure enough, there is NO hole for a fog light switch. If it is indeed a 65 GT, it sure would have the foglight switch, plus the instrument cluster bezel is wrong. (althought the glove box door appears correct) It should have the "eyebrow" type istrument cluster to match the glove box rather than the 66 style that it has. I though it was a 66 because of the bezel. Maybe it needed a n ew bezel and they just put a standard 66 bezel in it. Heck, what HASN'T been changed on most of these cars?
Stripes and emblem placement look authentic, but only a close inspection would tell for sure if it is a true GT. Absent the hole in the dash for the lights, I think you just saved me about a 180 mile round trip.

also the correct hole in the radiator ft support (fog lightlight wire loom access) is about two inches below the horn wire on each side,, I see a weird hole next to the horn wire pass side. Don't know about the dvr side. I don't see any hole,,

While it isn't on the front part of the dash, if you look closely, it is located on the very bottom portion of the dash in the area where you screw your underdash lights, about an inch to the right of the air vent knob thing.Looks like someone painted it black when they painted the dash.

It is 80+ miles to get to it, and I do not need another dead car sitting around right now. If I saw GT stuff in the right places I might be more interested. I have taken too many roafd trips and returned home empty-handed to waste time on stuff like that right now.

Yeah, I can see the switch. I can't figure out what the heck is going on below the wiper and headlight switches on the dash.
Makes me think I didn't sell my '65 GT coupe for enough. It was in much better shape (about a 20-footer) and I sold it for $5k. FWIW, mine had the same incorrect instrument bezel and also incorrect glovebox door. Everything else, including steering gear box tag, dash opening, exhaust hangers, etc. was all there.
Wouldn't mind having it back; sure I'm not the first on this board to say that

I'm actually looking at this car as well but like others have saide, I'm working on another. The only thing I can see from the photos I have is that the gas cover doesn't show GT on it. Shouldn't it be on it?
Actually I just pulled out a book and it said it started in 1966. Does that sound right?
Should it have the pony interior?

you guys must have scared it off! the link says it was deleted!!

Terry this car is not on CL. It was bought off CL a couple of weeks ago by my sheetmetal and paint man. He isn't sure if he wants to keep it or not. He is a MOPAR guy, but couldn't pass up the offer the guy gave him.
