Long time coming, but finally a 2017 GT350 is in my garage, alongside the 66 fastback.
In protest, the 66 started making really nasty noises in the engine compartment. Will have to investigate that when I get time.

There is no comparison to the 2015 GT, even though both were six speeds. The Shelby does everything so perfectly, I do know how to even compare it to any other car I have ever driven. Huge power. Huge brakes. Great exhaust system. Flip a switch for quiet or 6sally6 mode.
Only thing I want to change is the color of the wheels. I just do not get this totally black wheel thing.
Build quality as far as hood/body gaps and stripe install is not nearly as good as the 2015 GT convertible.

Congratulations on the Shelby & the anniversary Steve. I have had my '09 GT500 for 3+ years and still love to drive it. The 65 is fun and gets a lot of attention, but there is nothing like 700 horsepower on tap. We will be married 30 years next month and she still puts up with my Mustang habit!

Good to know. Don't know a lot about the new Shelby's but looking on Ebay there's a $65,000 Shelby and a $99,000 Shelby. What version did you buy? I agree with with the Black Wheels! I like the Black with certain color cars but most I like the Aluminum Rims.

Love that Blue MS, don't care for black wheels either. The dual mode exhaust is a wonderful thing, I have to turn the quiet on to get my wife in the car, but the default setting is LOUD! I never see a deer when on loud and that makes it worth it around here.

Love the car, don't get the black wheel thing, either. Jr. picked up a second set of OEM wheels for his ctsv that had minor road rash. He took them to the local wheel shop, and had them refurbished, and the shop talked him into powder coating them with multiple shades. Spokes were one shade, barrel of the wheels and barrels for the lug nuts were a different shade. Back side is black, which keep that part of the wheel from looking dirty from brake dust, but smooth finish makes them easy to clean. Very subtle, but different from any other V out there. Wheel guys can coat them any way you imagine. Think about it for awhile, then get them refinished how YOU want them.
Of course, "drive it like you stole it....."

I am jealous, beautiful car!
How hard was it to get via the dealer? Did they try to put a bunch of markups on it? Did you order it or did they already have it in stock?

Cargurus was the best shopping tool I found. I really like the way ot works.
I got my car, which is a 2017 GT350 for $450 under msrp because they used the invoice from the wrong car. They actually wrote the deal on a black Shelby that did not have the factory stripe, a $450 option. I noticed it said BLACK after the deal was done. They had to redo all the paperwork but did not raise the price. I'm certain they made it up on my 2015 GT trade.
Mine has the technology package and stripes and recaro seats. Will get the wheels PVD chromed once we get moved.

That is a huge change. I was looking to buy one last year and every dealer that could get one marked it up $30,000. The dealers I talked to were certain they would get it, so they wouldn't even talk a deal. I informed the sales manager I had a long memory and left.

Thay still do have that markup on the windshield at the dealership. But, if you look at the prices online at same dealership they are normal MSRP. Online shopping is the way to go evidently.

I know most dealerships rely on most of their customers being witless boobs to make most of their profit, but posting "+ $30,000" on the sticker for their walkins and accepting MSRP from their more savvy customers seems insane even for car dealers.

Funny the way this deal went down. Five Star Ford in Carrollton has two new 2016 models without track pac for $58,000 and no markup. I looked at those but wanted a 17. Their sister store in Plano had my blue one. Direct contact online with Plano had them quoting $5k over sticker FIRM. I TOLD THEM FORGET IT.
Then the young salesman at Carrollton, Chad, convinced his manager to contact someone in Plano and did the deal for me. I got it for $450 under msrp when they screwed up. The only reason they agreed to sticker price was they thought they were selling the black one. Seems everybody has extra black GT350's so it must not be as popular a color. Most dealers want $5k over sticker, some $10k. Paying cash probably helps bargaining power? Or maybe the dealer getsa cut on financing? Too many secrets in that business.

The whole car buying process make me ill! The games dealers play! When the new body style came out in 05 (I believe) Lisa really wanted one on Legend Lime. We drove down to South St. Louis County on new years day 2006 to look at one that a dealer had. They had it priced at MSRP +3000! yeah right! We looked and looked and I told several dealers to kiss my @#$! Finally in September of 06 I drove by a Dealer about 30 miles from home and saw this Legend Lime 06 Sitting there! I looked at it several times and it was what we wanted except it had the premium package with leather seats etc that we really didnt want. I also saw where Ford was offering 0% interest for 6 years on in stock Mustangs. I called a salesman that I knew that worked there and asked him for a price. He said they would sell it for $400 over invoice. I asked him for a final price and he quoted me (If I remember correctly) $29100 it stickered for A bit over $32000. I asked if the 0% still applied, he said yes! I said SOLD!! I figured that was probably the best deal I have ever got on buying a car. It pays to stay clear of the hype!!

I am not a big fan of the capless fuel filler. We recently had a neighborhood problem. Someone was coming around at night just siphoning off a gallon or two a night, probably enough to get from point a to b. I had to put a locking gas cap on my wife's car, and I was going to put one on the 16, but they are quite expensive. Never got one.
I love just about everything else about the car and the body style. Still get lots o compliments on it. 8499 miles now!
