It ran amazingly well, I would go so far as to say it was the smoothest I have ever seen with a carbureted engine. that is why I was shocked at the fuel in the intake.

Quick Model T story.
Back in the mid 70's we would drive a bunch of old fords... Duces and A's and the like from LA to Vegas to visit Ed Winfield. There were also a couple of T's that would tag along on trailers as Old Ed was a "T" guy through and through. One year one of the guys brought a beautiful '26 T Roadster with a Rajo head and a single Winfield pot. The car ran great but had a pronounced off-idle stumble if the throttle was cracked too far too quick.
Ed was all excited about that T but never asked about the engine so when he was offered a ride he jumped right in. The owner fired it up and right away Ed knew it was hot and got a big grin. The owner punched it a bit taking off and it stumbled. Ed asked what he had under the hood and was told it was a Rajo OHV with one of Ed's carbs. Ed asked it the carb was on "one of those Bell (Auto Parts) manifolds with the nice smooth rounded ends. Yup! He explained that they were real bad about fuel separation and that a log type with squared off runners into the engine would solve the problem becarse they created turbulance.

Wonder if............the puddled fuel in the intake/plenum vaporized before entering the intake valve? Going into the chamber already in a gaseous state? The long plenum creating a 'ramming-effect'? Just chalk it up as 'magic' maybe?

I see an aftermarket adapter for all those who want to convert from EFI to Carb. Great idea and looks kind of cool too.

Your combo with 5.0 intake, adapter plate, 351w intake...
What is overall height from block?
And/or height from engine mount (casting on block) to the top of intake?

What fuel rail will you be using?
Will the upper intake clear the rails?
Reason I ask, the factory rails have the pressure regulator that sit high.
I looked at the 351w truck, Foxbody, and Explorer.

The stock 5.8 rail fit nicely under the 5.0 upper
