leaning one way but(t) would like opinions on this

For my old eyes white seems to be the option. It shows up better when cloudy out as well.
I’d like to see fluorescent red needles though on either choice.

No. 3 The white with lite blue odometer. The lite blue won't hurt your eyes at night.

I like the black, and I think it has stood the test of time, but hey, it's your car. Make sure you pick what YOU like.

Not 66 gauges but a visual on red needles.

I like the third white one with the blue. I also agree red needles would really make it really stand out.

I agree, and I would switch the fuel and voltage gauges. I look at fuel much more than voltage and in my car that outside gauge is behind my hand on the steering wheel.
And I love having the tach right there in front. I use speed much more than rev count these days with an engine that pulls from under 1500 rpm.

I would go the "Dark Side"

I'm a fan of black because it looks period correct. It really depends on what look you want. If the car is more of a restomod the white would look right at home. If its more period or deceptively stockish I say black.

Agree with the reasons (old eyes) for a 'white' face, w/either a red or a black needle.

I'm kinda partial to the White with the blue. Maybe black with a black interior. And yes the orange needles, I ordered a new speedometer and missed that.

The red ish needles are starting to be a factor,, white needles on white face might be a issue ?? leaning now to white needles on black face,, again NOT racial don't picket my house,,,

Love the red needles on either background.

Check out Speedhut for customizable gauges.

My preference would be white background, red/orange needles, red or green lighting.
Blue lights tends to mess with my eyes...
Especially if it is alternating blue and red lights.🤣🤣🤣

I lean to the classic black with a red needle

I would go with the Black and red needles,
The white looks good in the pro-touring types but I think the black looks more classic.

Who makes those instruments, Don? Do they also provide the cluster?

Looks like Dakota Digital VHX series, comes as a package, price seems reasonable compared to others.
