In 64 my dad bought a new fairlane. The dealer gave him a galaxy 500 convert. model. I played with that thing until the wheels fell off. That was back when gas stations were called service stations and you'd get all kinds of freebies with a fill-up.

The lamp assembly slides into the end of the "bullet". It just pulls out and then you can get to the lamp. Sounds like you may have a corrosion problem, mine comes apart easily.

You set the idle speed with the carb not timing. Try setting your idle timing at 8 degrees advance and adjust carb idle to speed you want. To check vacuum advance on dizzy, disconnect hose at carb, remove dizzy cap and suck on hose. You should see the advance mechanism move as you apply vacuum.

On most ps units you need to cycle the steering lock to lock a few times to bleed the air out.

on my stock 66 it looks different. the cable is attached to a steel piece with a roller that is pushed by the button. the plastic piece acts as a guide with a cam that rides up and down with the cable.

Anyone know how far you can shim the upper a arm to increase castor. I can get 5/8" on the front bolt and 1/8 on the rear. This gives me about 7 degrees castor and 1/2 degree negative camber. Will this cause any problems with suspension?

Possibly heat soak in the starter. You didn't say if you're running headers, but climb underneath and see how much clearance you have between exhaust and starter.

I saw a comic in yesterdays paper. Nascar was meeting and said driverless cars would be great, wouldn't have to pay any drivers for winning.

During the viet nam police action, ford took a couple of boss429 mustangs for exhibition runs at a few bases. I never got to see them, we didn't have any paved roads in the area.

Summit has Scott Drake bars really cheap. Any thoughts? Bit concerned because everyone commented on the front mounts bolt holes not lining up. Wondering if they've gone cheap Chinese.

Is he complaining about over heating or are you just looking for something to worry about. The water level will rise as it heats up and you'll see little or no flow at idle. Did you try revving it to check for flow? If it's not overheating, I'd move on to something else.

The 13 to 33 inch/pound is the torque needed to rotate the pinion assembly, not the pinion nut torque. Torque the nut to 175 and then measure the amount of torque needed to spin the pinion shaft.
Another thought, since you're using solid spacers, go easy on the first tightening of the nut in case you don't have enough spacers installed.Torque to about 30 lbs/ft and measure preload. Don't want to damage anything.
