MS, I think I remember an post of yours that talks about wheel spacers required for the front and rear on '68 Mustangs. Do you happen to have a link for it?

Also, where is the best place to buy wheel spacers for our Mustangs? Thank you for any advice.

Drew

I just got some new wheels for my 68 Mustang. They are 17x8 from a 2003ish Mustang. What are some ways I can measure the spacer width I will need before ordering? Thanks for any advice.

I have 4 wheel disc. The rear end is an 8.8 from a 2000 or 2001 Mercury Mountaineer with disc brakes.

I got the master cylinder bench bled and installed. I installed stainless steel brakes. I bled the brakes really well. They feel very solid. However, the pedal seems to travel pretty far before engaging. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I installed an 8.8" rearend in my 68 Mustang. The 8.8 came off a 2000 mercury mountaineer (suv). I looked at the mileage on it in a salvage yard and identified the tag to make sure it had 3.73 gears and a posi. I had to weld on new spring perches. I set my pinion angle and then welded them. The shock mount was different from my 8" rearend. The entire rearend was $200 from a salvage yard which included the rearend yoke, complete rearend, and disc brakes.

Also, the original pushrod from the master cylinder seems too long. It doesn't go into the piston as deep in my new master cylinder. Mustang Steve, do you happen to know if I need a different pushrod for my application? Is there anything that holds the pushrod in place. I don't see any place for the snap ring to engage. I destroyed the snap ring removing the original pushrod.

I have a '68 Mustang with factory drum brakes. I've converted to 4 wheel disc. I just purchased the master cylinder that Mustang Steve sells on ebay for the disc/disc setup. It has a front port size of 1/2" and rear port size of 3/8". Does anyone know where I can find stainless steel pre-bent for my setup? The brake line kit I just purchased is stainless but it has 9/16" fitting for the front port and 1/2" on the rear port. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the excellent information ultrastang. I have family that is from Camden, Arkansas.
My last question is: if my pressure differential valve (on my original drum/drum setup) has shifted the plunger and turned on my warning light, will this affect any brake fluid flow or brake pressure to either side? It seems like every time we reset the plunger and bled the brakes, it would move and turn the light on again.

I live in Laurel, MS. I'm not sure if it is a distribution block or proportioning block. It is the original drum/drum setup. It is the block that sits under the master cylinder.

I have a '68 Mustang Coupe that originally had drums on all 4 corners. I have installed Versailles front discs and an 8.8" with discs from a 2000 Ford Explorer. So now I have 4 wheel disc brakes (manual brakes). I have purchased a disc/disc master cylinder from MustangSteve on eBay. I will be putting it on soon. I have already installed a Wilwood brake proportioning valve in the rear brake system. What do I need to do to the original distribution block? I've seen online that there are a few mods. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I'm looking for a set of the Bullitt wheels like seen in this picture. If anyone knows where I can get some, please let me know. I live in southern Mississippi.

How much less pedal effort is required for a hydraulic clutch set-up compared to a cable clutch? Also, are there any benefits to choosing a slave cylinder over a hydraulic throwout bearing?
