Dang the bad luck.
Did tire have a slow leak at highway speeds?
It happened to me many years ago.
Fortunately someone on interstate told me about it.
Valve stem was leaking at rim.

MS…do you have a picture of your tensioner spanner wrench?
The single source water pump does not sound like a good idea.
Can you please explain the requirement of the pulley covers?
I am having difficulty understanding it.
What electric fan is in the picture?…future reference…Thanks.
Your installation of the electric fan is very clean.

When I bought my blueprint engine last year it said standard rotation water pump only. The techs at blueprint reverse rotation wouldn't work. I had the front dress from 5.0 serpentine set up. I looked over both timing covers very closely, and they were the same. I used the reverse rotation and its working well. I don't know why you couldn't use the reverse rotation pump if from a timing cover standpoint. There the same.
Did ya happen to take pictures of both covers?

What side is water pump inlet?
If it is on driver side…could you just eliminate the 2 top idler pulleys and use a smooth water pump pulley?
This would require a reverse rotation pump.

Have you tried a slightly longer belt?
The requirement of removing the alternator pulley is why I mention it.
When I swapped the 3G alternator into the Foxbody serpentine drive, pulley was slightly larger than the 2G alternator pulley. The existing belt was difficult to install. If I remember correctly, the tensioner was at the tight end of the range for the belt…I think. Any who, I believe the belt under load applied excessive force on my p/s pump and it failed.
The Wrapalator appears to place constant downward pressure on the water pump. Under load applies more force than the small water pump bearing and housing can handle. Especially with the short span and the 2 fixed pulleys.
The ribbed side of serpentine belts do not slip like the backside in the factory drive.

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » What transmission? » 5/30/2025 4:28 AM |
HGM electronics makes a standalone controller for transmissions too.
I know a feller who uses one for his 4L80E transmission swap in his 70’s truck.
The truck is a daily driver for summer.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Tri-Y headers » 5/24/2025 10:58 AM |
If can remember when I make it to garage…over 100 feet away, I will look.
I don’t think they made the last move…maybe they did.
Update…
Headers nowhere to be found at new place or old.
It’s been almost 5 years…I tried…and cried a little too. 😂
I know I will look again later just to be sure.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Tri-Y headers » 5/24/2025 5:46 AM |
I had Maier racing tri-y’s from early 90’s and did not have to modify the headers for shock tower clearance.
Based on original design.
Power steering drop bracket for the factory p/s ram was required.
Clearance to the accordion boot was really close.
The headers worked great with early 65 motor mounts too.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » FedEx…wow! » 5/23/2025 3:24 PM |
Hopefully, I will receive my heater core before winter.
Before June of this year would be nice.
Will have to remember this for future purchases.
Request to send by USPS.
The hand off is one thing, but to go to Colorado and return back to Michigan and transfer from FedEx to USPS in Grand Rapids. I wasn’t far off when I contacted seller and informed of this shenanigans…I even suggested that the transfer would be in Muskegon.

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » P head and HiPo exhaust manifolds » 5/18/2025 6:33 PM |
Have ya considered mild porting the E7 heads and have it milled afterwards?
Have you tried F-series truck exhaust manifolds?
I still have E7 heads on the stock 5.0L.
Only modification is exhaust opened to match header gaskets.
I may not win races, but sure have fun driving it.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » P head and HiPo exhaust manifolds » 5/18/2025 8:34 AM |
Where is the challenge in that Ron?
I have never done that before. 😜
Another option is the factory Explorer manifolds which are an odd duck in itself.
What about modified LS turbo (log style) manifolds or headers?
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » P head and HiPo exhaust manifolds » 5/17/2025 1:13 PM |
Greg, thanks for sharing this information.
I really appreciate it.
Bullet, I thought you had said they were modified.
Mostly on side bumping into Falcon shock tower.

Thank you for posting pictures Greg.
Could you add a couple of measurements to this thread for me?
With exhaust flanges on flat surface, what is the maximum distance to outer edge of “log” section and the “collector”?
Especially in are where shock towers would be located.
Just comparing to some late model manifolds in my possession. Thanks!
Bullet, did you modify the manifolds Josh mentioned?
I do not remember details.

I would run the Parchment interior.
You can always change color later if desired.
Keep it simple for now.
You’ll appreciate the “non black” interior.
