Instead of buying all those sockets just eliminate the buckets and hardwire the LED's. Thats what I did.
That cleans up the trunk and gets a bit more space.

Looks nice.

...if I remember correctly...  For my front park light buckets, I drilled the old sockets out.  If they are made in, this might be what you'll need to do.

It is easy to pull the carb and do the work on the bench.  Consider pulling it, cleaning it good and putting it back.  Probably your needles and seats are fine, just inspect them and clean them.  If your carb to intake gasket is stuck, then coat the new gasket with grease on both sides before installing it to prevent it from sticking in the future.

That car is located in CA according to the ad.  Car prices in CA are higher pretty much across the board.  I think that coupe is priced for the CA market.  I'm guessing there is a buyer there for it that just needs to find the ad.

Edit:  I see it also has the CA duck tail on it.  For me, that is more of a '60s camaro detail and not for a mustang.

Edit 2:  Why does it have a Shelby signature?

What exactly would you like to hear that is different from installing an instrument that will provide real time AFR data?  I've had mine in for years now and I always know how the carburetor is doing.  They are an inexpensive way of actually knowing the AFR.  The only reason I would not put one in would be if I were not going to be running a carburetor.  And even then an O2 sensor would need to be installed for the EFI.
(By the way, mine is an AEM 30-0300 X-Series)

Edit:  In December of 2017, mine cost $179.  The current price on Amazon for the same one is $189.  Only $10 higher after 7 years.

I saw some AEM 30-0300 x-series on ebay even cheaper not sure if they are real  may be a knock off.

I looked on eBay and saw a higher price for new kits with the O2 sensor.  Don't buy used and be sure you get the proper O2 sensor with whatever AFR kit you buy.  Remember it is the O2 sensor that provides the data.  The rest of the kit is the display.

Yep, I was going to say the heater core as well.  Maybe the connection(s) to the core is just loose.  With winter winding down, he could just bypass the heater at the front of the engine for now so he could keep moving forward then revisit it at a future date once everything else is working.

Perhaps clamping two small needle nose vise grips with pieces of fuel line protecting the jaws would work as the easiest temporary "bypass".

When you're doing 70 on the highway, let us know if you can hear yourself speak out loud at a normal volume.  There were old glass packs on my 302 when I bought it in 2013 and I could not hear myself at 70mph.  I changed them for a pair of Thrush Turbos in 2015 and I'm still happy with them.  With the Turbos, there is still engine noise at 70 but a normal volume conversation is fine.  No A/C in the car so the windows are also down but the Mustang doesn't produce that much noise from the wind either.  I've always liked that about the Mustang.  My other cars and my truck are terrible at highway speed with the windows down.

The fins are just heat sinks, right?  I don't see damage to the tubes in the photo.  Have you located the leak?

Use a 3/8 bolt for the SAE wrench...  and an M10 bolt for the Metric version.

Crossover pipe

Best reason to install one is it makes the system rigid, so it cannot rock side to side. This makes header gaskets last a whole lot longer because they are not being constantly used as a hinge point as the exhaust pipes rock back and forth.

First time I've heard that benefit.  Makes sense.

No I'm not adding any crossover.

I was just curious.  I have only changed the mufflers in the exhaust system that was on my mustang when I bought it in 2013.  It does not include a crossover either.  I only asked because of how often it is recommended to include a crossover.

Perhaps less my age and more about my Pop.  He never had a car with a flat head engine after I was born.  (By the way, my dad was born in 1911.  And he was 50 when I was born.)  Practically all of the flat heads I have ever owned and worked on were made by Briggs and Stratton.

Here's an Internet image of a 1928 A model showing 4 spark plugs but only three exhaust header pipes.  This matches what I thought I saw in your photo...  3 pipes on each side.  Strange.  Have you ever seen a flat head engine with 3 pipes on each side?

I don't have mufflers yet but I have the headers extensions and some pre bent 2.5" pipe. I'm actually a little intimidated by this job. I'm not so sure I'm going to get it to look professional or even decent looking. I've been laying under the mustang trying to get a visual of how I can do this with the best look and ease of work. It's hard when you can really put pieces where you want to check for fit unless you start cutting. I see extra dollars being spent on a learning curve.

Referring to extra expenses going to learning curve, I've been there many times myself on various projects.  Education is seldom free so I've always excepted a certain amount of wasted expenses as being totally worth it when I gain knowledge in a new area.  You are right to prepare yourself for some extra expenses when working in new areas.  No worries.

My brother works at DiscountTire.  I asked him which wheel size has the most tire choices and he said 17 inch.  I also have 15 inch wheels on my car.  I prefer the look of the larger side walls for tires on most cars.  I hate the rubberband look on anything.
