As you probably know, at MustangSteve tech support and customer service are very important. To increase response time and handle the full volume of customer communications, we are looking for a part-time person to assist Michael in answering customer questions and tech support.

We are looking for someone with technical knowledge and hands-on experience working on classic Mustangs, preferably with expertise in installing MustangSteve products. I am expecting this to be less than 2 hours a day and can be done remotely. You will also get a discount on all MustangSteve products.

Please email or call me if you are interested or know someone else who might be.

Thanks,
Brian

I am replacing the inner fenders on my 67 and wondering what the best/legal way to transfer the VIN to the new panels is. Unfortunately, I don't have a dash VIN, as I believe that started in 68, so the inner fender VINs are all I have for identification. Has anyone dealt with this maybe feedback from the Police or DMV?

Thanks, Bob. That is a good one. I have bought window and trim parts for my 68 from them as they seem to be correct and of good quality and the videos are helpful.

My favorite is West Coast Classic Cougar. Don explains the procedures very well and knows his stuff. He also sells parts, at NOT yard sale prices. But if you really need a post he usually has them. Ya ya, I know it's a Cougar place, butt many parts are the same for 1967 on.

Your truck is looking great!

Interestingly enough, MustangSteve just finished prototyping a modified knuckle that will fit the S550 brakes (including 15" 6-piston Brembos) on a Crown Vic front suspension. It's not posted on the site yet, but if you're interested in getting more information, let me know.

Thanks for all of the feedback!

I was hoping to add some vintage racing style into the logo. The forward looking horse was thought of before the new Mustang Dark Horse logo. I have clearly missed the mark for the MustangSteve brand and won’t be using the new logo.

Steve, no disrespect was meant by having an M/S in the logo,

I am in the process of refreshing the MustangSteve site, including a new logo. I wanted to get feedback on what y'all thought of the potential new logo. Let me know which one you like best or if you like the old one better or neither.

Thanks for all of the great information. There's a lot more to oil than I realized.

Although my 289 was blueprinted, the previous owner that had it done didn't have any specs. I am going to try out the Mobile 1 15W-50 for this oil change and consider 10W-30 for my next oil change based on the oil pressure readings I get in the car.

I have been reading up on using 20W50 diesel oil(higher zinc content) for old V8s. Does anyone have experience with the benefits or trade-offs using heavier-weight oil?

I have the original 289 in my 68 that has been balanced and blueprinted with a mild cam.

I replaced my emergency/parking brake cable yesterday and it seems to be the worst (least fun) repair on my 68. It involves working under the dash, lower firewall, and under the car all for a small project. Also, the parking brake handle design is not very good in my opinion with the pin you have to drive into the shaft to hold the handle on.

What is the worst part to repair in y'all's experience?

You dabble with all kinds of stuff, don’t ya??

Yes, I love all things mechanical. The wrecker was owned by my Grandfather who ran a Studebaker dealership in Dumas, TX. He welded the boom on the back, so truck means a lot to me.

What are details on your wheels/tires Brian?

Nice car.

Thanks. They are 19x8.5" off of a 2015 Mustang. I am still working through some rubbing issues and may end up going with a 255/35r19 series tire vs the 255/40r19 on there now to get the diameter closer to the stock size.
