I have done plenty of things like that. I already installed the pulley on the pump before asking the forum. So for now I have to remove and reinstall the pulley. Thanks again for the help.

I have a 1965 Mustang with a 200 engine, A/C and P/S. The P/S is the Eaton pump and I would like to change it to the Thompson/Ford pump. I have the correct 6 cylinder pump with Ford DA marked pulley and 3 piece bracket. The problem I am having are the 3 screws that mount the pump to the bracket. The pulley grooved area (sheave) is extremely close to the bracket leaving very little room to install the screws. Outside of removing the pulley, installing the pump, and reinstalling the pulley, my only other option is smaller screws. I am afraid that if I use smaller screws they may pull out while driving causing bigger problems. Any ideas would be of great help. Thanks

Thank you for a very quick response. Looking at the schematics for 1967 and 1968 brackets it would seem that my 1967 Mustang has a 1968 bracket setup. Do you think that it is possible that it came from the factory with that setup with an April build date? I know Ford sometimes changed things mid-production. I don't know when production would start on 1968s.

I have been searching the internet for days looking everywhere for information on the P/S Brackets for a 6 Cylinder 1967 Mustang, built early April in NJ. So far I have been able to narrow it down to 2 possibilities. An all black 3 piece bracket, a carry over from 1965-66 or a 3 piece black, aluminum and cast bracket looking more like the mounting bracket from an 8 cylinder. I looked at StangersSite page but see no pictures of 1967 6 cylinder mounting brackets. Any pictures or advice would be of great help. Thanks

I have to replace the exhaust system on my 1967 6 cylinder A/T. After looking around I see that many of the aftermarket mustang parts shops all offer the complete exhaust system. Most offer an 1 3/4 inch pipe. Some offer a 2 inch pipe for A/T cars .What is the correct size for a 1967 with automatic transmission? Thanks for any help.

~~ I have a 1967 mustang 200 6 cylinder w/AT that needs a new exhaust system. I am going to replace the entire system (buy the parts and bring to muffler shop). I have been looking at all the aftermarket sellers and they all seem to be selling a generic system without much explanation of noise/power etc. I am looking for a quiet system, the quieter the better. Have any of the I6 owner found one that is quieter then another. Also, I have a 1965 mustang 200 6 cylinder w/AT that sounds like an old milk truck (showing my age). As far as I can tell this system is in good shape. I will also be changing the exhaust system on this car as well to try to make it quieter. Also, will the 2 inch ’67 pipes bolt up to the ’65, both with a 200 I6 ?

On my last post I mentioned that I had a '65 I6 that I installed KH disc brakes on and was going to get an alignment.Members suggested that I also change out the steering components to the V8 parts and I agree. I now have all the parts needed to change everything and was wondering about a good starting point for the tierod ends. If I was just changing to parts I would count the amounts of turns out from the sleeves and just reverse to install. The V8 parts are larger, Will this procedure work as a starting point? also, what would be good good aligmnent numbers to give the shop for Toe-in, camber and caster? As always thanks for any help.

Is the pitman arm the same for V8 and 6 cylinders? With the difference in weight between the engines what would be a good alignment spec for a 6 cylinder with V8 steering linkage and now a rear end also? Thanks for the help.

I installed KH disc brakes on my 1965 Mustang convertible. I used V8 spindles but kept the 6 cylinder suspension parts. Its now time to get a front wheel alignment and was wondring if i should use original Ford specs for camber,gaster and toe-in?
