66 mustang with 302 engine
wanting to know OHM values for stock Temp sending unit cold [room temperature]
[running OHM values at normal running temps, 180-200 degrees]
currently have 3 temp sending units. 2 run cold on gauge {needle just past C setting on gauge} and 1 runs very hot on gauge {needle at 3/4 full scale}. Was looking for guage to read in the middle. Constant voltage regulator at 5vdc.
should not the sending unit measure between 10-73 OHMs

More Info
I have 4 1/2 reverse eye leaf spring and shelby relocation of upper control arm with 600 spring
66 T code Mustang with 97 ford explorer 302 and T5Z trans and 8" rear axle 3.55 gear set
I think leaf springs clap on severe bump hit floor pan at  front attachment point.. If I were to do it again I would go with 4 1/2 leaf spring with mid eye and spacer block. I would also stay with 4 speed and appropiate rear gear

rear end with no pinion shims .6 degrees down. Meaning that drive shaft flange is up and rear of differential is down. the angles get confusing on paper. measured all my angles on apporpriate u joint with snap ring removed.
measured top of distributor before and after to monti carlo bar and dropped 1/2".
results have only drone from FlowMaster 40 mufflers. Not a problem I grew up with 8 brother and sisters

thanks

Ron Morris was nice too talk with went I called him and asked about his product

installed Ron Morris 1/2" lower motor mount kit. Changed my T5Z transmission output shaft from 4.6 degrees down to  1.5 degrees down. with no Pinion shims on rear axle vibration is gone. This setup has minimum clearance for repo cast HIPO exhaust manifolds.

66 mustang, T5Z Transmission, 97 Explore 302 with correct Flywheel and damper 50 oz, 8 inch rear end

I bought a kit from CJ Pony that include new T5Z, Driveshaft and MDL trans mount years ago.

Between 45-55 mph I get vibration in driveline. I have tried 2.5 and 4.0 degree shims on pinion. Best results was 4degree shim that raised front of pinion up. Still some vibration 45-55.

My transmission tail is down at 4.6 degrees. I can not raise it because there is only 3/16 inch clearance between trans and floor cross member. I think 3 degrees is  max U joint angle for best results.
Was going to install Ron Morris 1/2" lowering motor mount kit ran into a problem. Not able to remove one bolt on shock tower. nut rounded off. Engine is in car. Difficult area to get to.

My question is who has a T5Z with 302. Do you have a vibration issue at 45-55 mph. What is your Transmission Tail shaft angle? What has been done to fix vibration if originally had problem?

thanks

tires are 15/60/215.  easily clear front and rear fenders. Shelby drop on front.

I think there is room for larger tire but I will leave that to someone else to provide info

Saw the Flaming River Electric steer at Oklahoma City NSRA car show this past summer. looks like a quality product. American made

have a 97 Explorer 5.0L engine with V belt and carb.
Used same Summit Damper SUM-163302.
I just transferred brackets from 289 to 302. Have manual steering. Alternator is a Tuff Stuff one wire TFF7068, reclocked the case and aligns fine with brackets. My AC is not working from old engine but moved bracket to 5.0L and using original 3 groove V-Belt pulley on Crank Damper. Should align up with original Ford AC or after market AC unit. I am using cast iron water pump from NAPA, 43049. It uses backing plate, not like the early versions where pump vanes are exposed.

Question ?
Do you have any harmonics with the T5 swap ?

Reason I asked is I have 66 mustang, 8" rear with Reverse eye 4 1/2 leaf rear springs, 302/ T5Z.
Transmission output shaft at 3.8 degrees down. Shimmed rear axle to 4 degrees Pinion up. At 50 mph get a Harmonic, goes away around 55mph or so. I only have 1/8 spacing between Transmission and floor bracing, so can not raise trans tailshaft any higher.

302 with Perfomer 289 intake, Phenolic 3/8 spacer plus a Ford Spacer that has PVC port on it. Total spacing from base of intake carb mounting flange to Summit 600cfm carb is 1 1/2 inches. Air filter assemble is 14". Clears my hood and straight monticarlo bar

You can have fun driving 221 engine.
when my brother-in-law went to Vietnam my older brother and I got his 62 4door Fairlane with 3 on the tree.and 221 V8 engine
Learned to drive a manual and did my first burn outs in that car. I would run the engine thru gears, when it lost power I would shift. After I graduated from High school I bought a 64 Fairlane 500 Scope coupe that had no Engine/Trans and put that 221 in it with a 4 speed and a 59 Rancho 9" rear end. It was fun to drive put not land speed recorded speeds.
221 has 140HP and will provide you fun driving it unless you need to be the top dog on the street. Most 289 add ons with fit on engine.
Enjoy the start of the SBF
