FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Fiberglass trunk lid weatherstripping » 1/19/2022 1:34 PM |
I ran into the same problem with my 67 ( aftermarket Shelby trunk lid). Tried two different manufacturers of factory weatherstripping and it was always too tight if you wanted all the body lines and gaps to match up nicely. I tried modifying these to no avail and finally went with an aftermarket weatherstrip that worked great. If you search for this part number on Amazon
B077P632FC
You will see what I used. It was very easy to work with (self adhesive) and had the compression that was needed.
This may or may not work for you, but it solved my weatherstrip issue. The price made it worth the experiment.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Will a T5 survive behind a 351w? » 10/22/2021 7:40 AM |
I’ve been running a stock 94 GT T5 behind my 351w (450hp) for 20 years now. It has seen many track days and a few drag strip nights. Treat it nice and it will be fine. T5’s are my transmission of choice.

It’s brand new in the box. Just don’t need it. I’m asking $50 plus shipping or best offer. I can send pics if needed. It’s almost triple that at cj pony.
Thanks
Jim
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Anyone running a 8.8”? » 12/05/2018 8:28 AM |
Just an FYI...
I swapped a 1998 mustang GT 8.8 with a 3.27 posi in my 67 convertible. Easy swap. Cut off non needed brackets and weld on perches. The pumpkin is centered on these 8.8’s. This rearend is wider but is perfect for running the 99-04 bullitt wheels. No spacers needed.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Some explain this whole leaf spring thing? » 5/16/2017 10:40 AM |
Any opinions on if a 67 convertible (added weight of power top) would sit any different than the picture MS posted (67 coupe) with 4.5 leaf reverse eye springs? My convt has the 1" shelby drop and 1" lowering front springs. Thanks for your opinions.
Jim
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Some explain this whole leaf spring thing? » 4/07/2017 7:57 AM |
Thanks. Sounds like Mustangs plus is the place. I bought reverse eyes from them 15 years ago for my Cougar. Sounds like it is still the place to go.

MS - Where do you buy your 4 leaf reverse eye springs?
Thanks, Jim
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » exhaust for aod » 2/06/2017 10:27 AM |
I was running a C4 in my 67 convt (351 and old headman long tube headers). When I replaced the C4 with an AOD, I noticed the headers wouldn't reach around the wider AOD. But I did notice that there would be room for them with the AOD installed. I was able "massage" the angle of the collector part of the header with a porta - power and make it all fit. It actually was pretty easy to do. Leave headers bolted to the engine. Put blocks of wood between headers and front frame rails (so you are not pressuring the flange of the header). Insert porta - power between header collector area and start "spreading" so the AOD will slide between the headers. I know this isn't for everyone, but it worked fine.

Ditto what MS did. My donor AOD came with shifter and cable, so I modified it like MS showed. Many thousand miles with no problems.
Swap Meet » 1967 Mustang turn signal hood inserts complete with wiring » 1/13/2017 4:36 PM |
I have a nice set of OEM hood turn signal inserts. These are complete with uncut wiring harness.
Each grill has a very small break in the horizontal post ( like most I've seen). Not sure what these are worth. Just cleaning out basement. I have pics if interested. Make offer. Thanks

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 69 Cougar clutch » 4/25/2016 7:17 PM |
I agree MS. That's why I made a quadrant type for my ranchero. But the DB performance style has held up well for almost 20 yrs now.

No. It was made by D.B. Performance Engineering. Not sure if they are still around or not. I made my own for the Ranchero using an aluminum quadrant, firewall adjuster, and cable from a 1990 mustang GT.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 69 Cougar clutch » 4/25/2016 8:40 AM |
I'm running a cable setup in my 69 Cougar 351W, T5, and headers. I've been running this setup since 1997. Never melted the cable. Had to massage the cowl a little bit (not much). I'm a fan of cable setups. I also have one in my 65 Ranchero 302, T5.
