Not sure what pulley system your using. But i installed a system on a 289 that sounds like your system. Some of the bolts that mounted the bracket on did bottom out . I just shortened those bolts and torqued them up.

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Will a T5 survive behind a 351w? » 10/22/2021 10:56 AM |
1971 mustang 351w with a T5 built by forum member works and shifts smooth .Using a pro 5 shifter Amsoil auto trans fluid. I don't hammer on it.And it works great by my standards. Fantastic rebuild.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » I want to build a shop compressor » 10/03/2021 6:37 AM |
When three phase motors where cheaper you could build a three phase convertor from a three phase motor . say you wanted to run a three phase compressor on single phase by using the pony motor to generate your third leg .You would need to spin he pony motor to start but it would run and generate your third leg to run or compressor .

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Considering synthetic oil » 9/15/2021 3:49 PM |

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » EFI swap » 9/14/2021 3:18 AM |
I am running Fitech go port on my 351 w . It works well . I think the biggest issue with any system is how it was installed .You need a good clean voltage source . And proper grounds. In most cases if still running the old low output altenator you need to upgrade it also.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 351W rocker clatter » 7/11/2021 5:29 AM |
Are the rockers rail rockers ? looking at them on the 66 289 I don't like them they provide no lubrication to the valve stem. They do have a pin hole in the push rod socket to feed the ball but nothing to the stem.My thoughts are if the rails are contacting the hat on the spring as they travel could sound like lifter clatter.

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Mustang Myth Busters: Spark Plug Clearance; Hipo mannys on GT40P heads » 7/04/2021 1:54 AM |
Good information, I running with the P heads on my 351w and using JBA shorty headers , attempted to use the hippo manifolds but they will not work on a 1971 mustang due to the steering gear box. Also using plug wires with ceramic boots.

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » why I build pre 71 mustangs » 6/25/2021 7:04 AM |
I think that every year the mustang was made is an important part of the cars history . I even consider the mustang 2 in that group , On the 71 -73 cars they were poor timing on fords part. If not for the EPA and " gas " shortages who know how its history would be.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
