4:11s with the .68 5th and can run around at 65-70mph comfortably.
The taller 1st was ok but I am at elevation too. I feel like those z's were pretty much designed for deep gears or turbo set up that likes the pull.

I don't know how you guys run those t5z's with mid 3 gears, I had one and went back to a wc because 5th was just to tall for the cam.
I'm running

The son & I are both running $50 DB mini starters and are happy with them. No slow heat soak starts and spin faster by design. Put one on a Perkins in a Bobcat and was $200 less than a reman that lasted 3 weeks.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 67 Radiator Fan Shroud » 5/01/2018 8:49 AM |
So, I have a reverse rotation serpentine setup on my 67 small block and have been using a Spal low profile 16" electric fan behind a 20" Champion aluminum radiator. The original electric fan that came with the radiator did not fit with the 80's water pump as I guess they are 3/8 or so longer? The low profile fan I replaced it with produces a lot of noise out the front of the car and is just not acceptable. I have replaced it with a mechanical 87 thermal clutch and a steel Derale 17917 fan. Clutch to radiator clearance is good at 3/4" or so and now need to get a shroud ordered, my question is can I use a 20" shroud off a 70 to accommodate the lower radiator hose on the left side? Is the basic configuration of the rest of the shroud the same as the 20" 67 shroud?

You have to enlarge it to see the mill Chuck drilling in from the top on the accelerator pump passage.

My first thought is the pilot bearing diameter? Otherwise double check input shaft length.

My son works at a machine shop and we just finished drilling and installing the secondary power valve and accelerator pump on a 600 Summit adding the squirters to the secondary booster etc. I have been curious as to what advantage the mechanicals would be as I felt I was dropping a little on my shifts as the secondary has to close and reopen with a slight delay as I let off. I like the throttle response with the annular boosters but they only produce that carb in a 750 which I feel is to big. All the castings are there to complete the needed circuits as they must use the same master castings for the body. Not sure how to post pics here?

Not sure about the blow-by? I was running a 4100 on my 67 with a mild 302 and an automatic 279? rear gears. Ran fine, no real performance to be expected especially at 7000 ft.
I built a 347, put in a t-5 manual and 4:11 rear with the Summit 600cfm vac secondaries. I have run the light spring on the secondaries and have been real happy with all aspects of the carb. Starting cold or hot has been flawless now for 2 years.
I do have an AFR gauge and dropped a couple jet sizes front and back for the elevation. I can hit the pedal one time and start it and walk away even with a snotty cam. Never slobbers. Light car and light secondary has worked pretty good even with the manual. I have 10-11 inches idle vac and it has good street manners.
For $299 I would put that 8500vs on a 289 without hesitation. Read the reviews on it and the 600.

The transmission will get it's vacuum from the vacuum manifold tree as usual, the carb secondary gets it's vacuum signal from within the carburetor it self.

Didn't realise it till yesterday but Summit also has a 500 cfm.

I have the 600 Summit on my 347 at 7000ft elevation. Runs nice and crisp. Have a few people I know have also gone that route and all happy with results.
Read the reviews on their website, not much negive feedback.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Drip rail weatherstripping and mouldings 67 coupe » 5/03/2013 1:46 PM |
I would do headliners all day long instead of dealing with these 2 things. Maybe neither one fits correctly? Both came from NPD years ago. Did not see signs of much adhesive holding the weatherstrip in the channel when I cleaned the tracks up but seems to need complete coverage to keep the weatherstrip full width and streached to lenght. Is this correct? The drip rail mouldings are another story and thinking some sanding of clear coat may be in order.

I used the large kit and 1/2 a small one on my 67 coupe to do most of the passenger compartment including the roof. Then went over it with the foil backed padded stuff tacked down with 3m super 77 and foil taped the joints.
Should be able to hear the stereo and all of the interior squeaks real good. I had a big roll of the padded material or I figure it would be about $600 worth of sound materials.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 67 Dimmer Switch Location » 4/14/2013 12:25 PM |
Can somebody give me a measurement on the stock location of the dimmer? Holes are gone and forgot to take pics or measurements when I cut out the floor. Couldn't find em now even if I had at the time?
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 67 washer pump converting to 12v electric » 4/05/2013 11:59 PM |
This is what I came up with to convert the washer pump to electric. Mounted a universal starter switch from Autozone to the peddle assembly. The body of the switch is threaded to allow for adjustment.
It should allow for the wiper functions to work normally and closes the pump switch when the peddle is depressed most of the way. I searched quite a bit and did not find many ideas on this so if it has been covered this way go ahead and yell at me..........
Just got started working on the 67 again after getting it painted 2 yrs ago. It is going on a 12 yr proiect so far and I hope to finish it this summer. Daily life seems to get in the way.
This is the 3rd time typing this post and trying to post pics, so I copied my text this time! Here goes on the pics again....................................................................................
