FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Turn Signal Connector » 6/14/2020 6:27 PM |
Does anyone know where I can get the female side of the 6-pin and 2-pin turn signal connectors? I've seen places that have the steering column side (male) but not the under dash harness side (female) or taillight harness(female).
Thanks for any info.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 1965 Mustang coupe VIN question » 1/15/2020 2:05 PM |
I'm probably wrong about the block of numbers used for Cougars but I have seen multiple posts about the 400000 and 500000 numbers not being used. When I look in the I can't find a single entry that has a 5 in that digit. Also, when I look at the numbers around 640703 they about the same build date as mine. The build date on the door tag is 22B. The date codes stamped in the sheet metal are also around the same date. The full VIN is 5F07T640703 on the door tag and 5F07T540703 on the fender aprons.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 1965 Mustang coupe VIN question » 1/15/2020 9:57 AM |
On my 65 coupe, the door body tag with the VIN has the last 6 digits as 640703 and this is what is on the title. I know doors can easily be replaced. The fender aprons on both the drivers and passengers side are stamped with 540703. In my research I found 400000 and 500000 were blocked out for Cougars I thought. All other characters on the VIN are the same except the 6 and 5 on the production number. Any thoughts?
Thanks.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » T5 Swap Woes » 4/17/2018 9:44 PM |
Any chance your pressure plate is hitting. When I put the T5 in my car I first tried to use a pressure plate (3 finger type I think) that came with the car and it would not let me get the bellhousing all the way tight. I tried a diaphragm style and that worked. I remember I compared them and one was about a half inch thinner than the other.

Anyone have pictures or diagrams for a fastback interior panel brackets. I have two left and for the life of me I cant figure where these go. I have installed the panels about 3 times and it seems like they are all in. Its possible that when someone gave me some misc parts that these were with them but I don't think so. Thanks.

I seen some previous post suggesting not to use the cork style gaskets and to use RTV alone instead. What about the two rubber pieces on the ends? Still use those right?

Here is a bearing picture. I can't push it anymore by hand. I'm a newbie when it comes to SBF engines, be nice. Is this the one that should go in the middle?
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 66 289 main bearing won't go in » 10/22/2016 12:28 PM |
Hi all,
I'm starting to assemble my stock 289 I just got from the machine shop. Most of the crankshaft bearings pushed in by hand fine. When I try to push in the rear main crankshaft bearing, I can't push it in by hand in the cap or the block. Any ideas? Thanks.

I stripped the car and did most of the metal work, but I have to confess I had someone paint the car for me.

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Seal over metal etch primer » 8/04/2014 2:58 PM |
I think epoxy would have been a better option, especially if its going to be a while before the rest of the bodywork is going to be done. I had someone helping me and etching primer is what they suggested.
Thanks for the help.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Seal over metal etch primer » 8/03/2014 7:56 AM |
Thanks, but unfortunately its past that point. It has metal etch primer on it and is starting to signs of surface rust where it’s been touched.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Seal over metal etch primer » 8/03/2014 5:00 AM |
My mustang body has metal etch primer on alot of the body. Its going to be awhile before It gets the rest of the body work and painted. What should I do to seal it and keep it from rusting in the mean time?
Thanks for your help.
