FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Garage air line kit question » 8/23/2025 3:52 PM |
Growing up I fell in love with airplanes and flying , throughout high school was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets . During my fourth year I was promoted to Warrant Officer and was awarded private pilot flight training, I was 15 at the time and did not have a drivers license so I had to ride a bicycle to the local air field for flight training.. I had to wait till I turned 16 to legally become a pilot.. Basically I had a pilot license before a drivers license.
After graduating high school I joined the RCAF and went for pilot selection and extensive training but in the process was found to have high frequency deafness , apparently a requirement for Canadian Air Force pilots.
So much for my jet pilot aspirations.
Below is a shot of me at Air Force training base on CF-100 which was Canada’s all weather fighter just before the transition to the Canadair F-86 Sabre jet.

I used an industrial system developed by Parker-Hannifin.
It’s a semi rigid and flexible plastic air line with push in brass connections,it is very versatile and easy to install. For me it was the easiest to run the lines up at the ceiling and also a line up to the second floor where I have a 1/2 ton air hoist and sand blast cabinet

They look a lot better than mine do.
Is the engine fuel injected?

It’s amazing how much money can be made on those videos. My step son’s cousin has made so much money putting out guitar how to clips he was able buy a new McLaren 720. The kid is in his late twenties.

Yes, if you throw enough money to throw at it.
A 289 will get you that very easily for far less dollar outlay.
Performance parts for small Ford sixes are not very commonplace.
Check out Classic Inlines.

Ouch !!!
Hope it goes together with no snags, will you be replacing all the valve springs?

A narrower tire will “hunt” less in wheel path ruts.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Thermostat » 7/29/2025 8:50 AM |
I had one stick open at the most inopportune time on a cold November morning in the hills of West Virginia.
I put a sheet of cardboard in front of the rad to bring the temperature up for a bit of heat for the remainder of the trip back home to Canada.

Aisin , made in Japan , not China.
They are an O/E parts manufacturer for many brands including Mopar,
Me, I buy Motorcraft and for all intents and purposes I believe are made by Ford in NA.

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Radiator with front mounted fan » 7/25/2025 12:31 PM |
Look into the v6 contour dual fan set up with a 24” rad, for all I have read it seems to be the best way to go for best electric fan installations.
After I installed a 331 my progression through fan installations went from electric pusher to electric puller and finally a fixed solid mounted 5 blade mechanical fan .
I have a 24” Champion aluminum rad with a custom shroud, a factory 17” 5 blade fan cut down to 15”
and a 180 degree thermostat .
With this set up my temperatures have never gone over 185 under any circumstances.

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 65 Fastback 3 Point Seatbelts » 7/08/2025 12:13 PM |
Although not in a fstbk, mines a vert, it seems I have the same set as seatbeltsplus shows.
I got the fronts and rears about 20 years iago from CJP and the clips and retractors look identical.
The upper shoulder mount is on the Shelby “roll” bar .
I dressed the buckles up a bit with pony badges.
I’m pleased with the operation and looks of the product.

A 3/8” drive will handle 100 foot pounds, butt that’s about its limit, less if they are from the .dollar store. Iffn the nuts are rusted it might take more torque to bustem loose.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention always use 6 point sockets on lug nuts butt ya’all knew that already dincha.
