I think that the umbrella valve is the problem. the valve under the accelerator pump is most likely  leaking.  Just my 2 Cents

I use the following formula to size carb to engine   cfm =max rpm x cubic inch  divided by 3456  dont remember where i got this formula   but actually works fairly well

thanks for the info.I  have tried rack and pinion  with no luck.The 62 frame is different than the 63.Can not mount the rack low enough  to eliminate bump steer.I  do not want the original power steering set up,so i guess I will keep it the way it is.

i have a 62 ford fairlane. i want to put epas on.From  what i have read,looks like the saturn vue is the one to get.Is  correct         Thank you

how do you ground the steering box to the steering shaft?My horn does not work,I know that the early fords had a copper piece to ground the shaft to the box.        It is a 1962 ford fairlane. thank you

I have a 62 fairlane and do not know how to ground  steering box so horn will work.I know the rag joint had a piece of copper that grounded  the  steering shaft  to the boe  ,mine is gone.Thank you for any help

I will check every thing you mentioned.The master cylinder is from the same donor car that i got the parts to do the swap.I used the old parts from the donor car  as cores every thing is new. Thanks for the info.

experiancing  what seems to be to much travel.Brakes are good stop great. have a power booster from a  1988 ford festiva, needed a small booster because of windsheid wiper motor

what is the distance from brake pedal  pivot point to thje stud the brake rod mounts on.I have a 1962 ford fairlane.I did the granada  disk brake conversion. I am not happy with the brake  pedal travel. the brakes work well but want  that new car feel.I have gotten a lot of info from this forum that has worked well on the fairlane. thank you

I use this formula  for carb size   cfm=max rpm x cubic inch  divided by 3456   gets you pretty close to the size of carb you need.I cannot remember where i got this formula,but have had and used it for years

Hi guys
I have been viewing this site for quite a while,just never post.I have gooten a lot of useful ideas and tips from this forum,so I definately do not want to get purged.I have a 62 ford fairlane with a 68 302 with 289 heads.I have had this car for 15 yrs.It is basically a daily driver and I drive it often.Thanks for all the info I have gotten from this forum.The Mustang and the fairlane are not that much different.
