FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Second Skin » 11/24/2023 9:34 AM

I used Lizard skin for sound and heat. Bought the spray gun to go with it. Seems to have done a pretty decent job.

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Finished spraying the mustang. » 11/24/2023 9:21 AM

Looking good. Now comes the tedious task of assembling with an extreme amount of fear of hurting the paint!! Or at least it was on my part.

Suggestion, make a small scratch somewhere it’s not visible so the first one is out of the way!!

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Mechanical Fans (not electric) » 10/21/2023 7:31 PM

I have a Derail knockoff of what Ford put on the car with 6 or 7 blades. It has a fan clutch too. It does a good job of keeping it cool.

I know they put that 4 blade fan on a lot of cars, but it sure seems like they would have used more blades.

Thanks John - great conversation. When you told the FE crankshaft story, I was able to connect a face with that event. Bob had mentioned it some time ago. Ouch. I feel your pain. Had to read your whole thread on the FE forum. I thought Battlestar Galactica Galaxie was Greg Cook, but it doesn't seem so. Maybe the car purchaser has taken over that screen name.

I do have a nice art piece I salvaged to keep at the office.

I haven't been current on the FE forum and remember Battlestar Galactica guy was Larry. Its great to see that Galaxie Station Wagon with the wheels in the air at every launch.

Thats a nice looking 422 on the stand. Whn you going to crank it??

Do you have a battery tender? I have one for the Mustang when I can't drive it as I should.

It was good to meet you too. Saw tour post and screen name then immediately thought I missed seeing another big block Mustang!! Your trip next year should be a lot shorter.

He had a nice video of your car leaving along with mine. Coupedaddy got the same video twice. One with music and one with the sound of that finely tuned motor. There were some videos of Steve Buzeks car and Doug Hudgin’s too.

Not sure who owned the car, but that’s a problem waiting to happen with no grommet to protect the wire from chaffing.

I love these bump side trucks!!

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Thinking of ditching this mega fuse » 9/17/2023 10:19 AM

Here is what I used. I can dig up the part numbers in a bit. They are made by Littlefuse. Fuse size is called MIDI. Seems like I bought some from Mouser Electronics and I found a receipt from Grainger. Mouser shows them as non stocked and Grainger shows them as discontinued. Mouser has some other choices that are stackable based off of 498900 part number.
