Very Nice Rudi! I'm guessing they didn't come painted up and pretty like yours did they I thought I read somewhere the adjustment on those mark-7's was a pain to set up innitially...how was it?

The set up was not a daunting task but did take some bracket re location and the e brake does not seem to be the best engineered that Ford has produced.
All in all I have about 300 bucks invested.

What I meant by set-up was bleeding and adjusting the e brake innitially. What kind of ebrake cables did you have to use?

Hey Guys/Gals, have been away frome site for a while and thinking about getting back into the 66, now that my garage is fully insullated and sheetrocked, and Son is settled into college. Set up I have now is a 66 coupe with a 68 8" rear. I know, not optimal with the wheel offset I have. Fenders are rolled. I also put in a 92 mustang e-brake, and 92 Lincoln rear brakes. I thought my choice of rear disks off Lincoln was a good choice untill I had to replace the emergency brake shoes....what a PITA!!! So, since the rearend is 2" too long for the car (Rear came with the car), and I really don't want to keep the lincoln set up, what have you guys/gals had success with? Wheels are American Racing 17 x 9's, 215/45R17, 4-3/4" back space. Tubo has an 8.8 explorer Rear he'll sell me cheap that I can narrow, but if I understand corectly, that uses the same style em brake set up as the Lincoln, which I don't want to mess with. I appreciate the sugestions.

Interesting...better than my idea of a curable sealant as long as it holds up to fuel.

My method.  You have to plan ahead, which hardly ever happens.

Lay the fender face down in a nice thick patch of grass in the yard.  Slowly hammer the lip with the flat end of a ball peen hammer to fold it back so the inside edge is vertical when on the car, and there is a 1/4" or slightly less gap between the fender and the rolled lip.  That leaves room for water to run out from between the fender and the lip, and the lip is vertical so even if it does rub, it doesn't cut anything.  I have used this method even on painted fenders and you can still roll the edge without affecting any paint that shows.  (I didn't say YOUR paint wouldn't chip).

If you hammer the inner lip flat against the fender or quarter panel, well... You just created a really nice place to catch dirt...nice, moist, dirt.  And there is no way to clean it out.  You have to leave a gap.

Tires and wheels that actually fit the car are a big plus as well when it comes to wheel clearance.

I always hear about these great tips AFTER I did it my way...which is to say I users a BFH and hammered the lips on the rears till they touched....fortunatly, was before the bodywork, cause this caused a couple bumps on each fender...little too afresive with the BFH.

I feel your pain.

Finally got the carb all installed, all new steel 3/8" hard lines plumbed (thanks to Brian for helping).  So, the ONLY THING LEFT TO INSTALL to get it running is that little 4" long piece of 3/8" fuel hose that goes from the pickup to the new fuel line.  Had to tug on the hose a little to get it to mate up with the new line.  The super high quality MADE IN CHINA piece of crap rubber o-ring slipped because the piece of junk MADE IN CHINA fuel sender/pickup does not index perfectly in the tank like the original one did.  So about 5/8 of a 22 gallon tank is starting to leak out around the o-ring with the car up on the lift.  Luckily the new tank has a drain plug.  Sherry came to help out.  We used a flexible transmission funnel with a hastily cut section of garden hose and started draining the tank.  Of course, gas all over the place, arms cramping from holding the funnel up in the air.  Sherry was directing the hose to fill up the tractor and every container we could get our hands on to drain the tank.  That is, until she raised up and smacker her head on one of the steel ramps on the lift, which was right about eye level but luckily hit her on the top of the head.  She will live, but scared the hell out of me.  I figured I would have to hold the funnel up there until the tank ran dry before I could put it down to go help her.  She was able to make it to the house to get the cut covered up.

At least I know for sure I will not have any EFI problems in the future because every single part that had anything to do with it (other than the pump still inside the gas tank) has been yanked off the car.

I knew it before and now I am certain that a carb is the way to go.  And all that electronic retrofit MADE INI CHINA high quality stuff is just not ever going to find its way onto my car ever again.

If I ever build another Mustang it will have a carbed 5.0 roller engine with a Holley on it, iron exhaust manifolds and no p

I think thats good for now, ok, maybe paint the grill black...getting it aligned tomorrow...though the 24's looked ok far as tire wear. Got a few small things to fix...like horn don't work...feels like there is no button on steering wheel, and there is no harness to connect to the also missing windshield washer pump.

A few of you may not find that hard to believe Lets just say the site moderator here is alot more lienient in policing the site and taking sugestions. Since I bought that 06 Charger, I found this Charger forum that has alot of great Charger info. Big site, tons of different catagories, loads of sponsors. I was looking to post to sell the wheels that are on the car to buy or trade for a set of Black 5 spokes. On that site, there is a 50 post min before you can post in the sell/buy section. Hmmn...I thought of a way around that...didn't see anything about swapping parts...so I posted a swap thread in the wheels and tire section. It was promptly deleted, which didn't surprise me. So I felt I should make a suggestion to lower the 50 post min in the for sale forum. I also praised the site for alot of good info. With that I got a PM that my thread was deleted, and a warning not to post critisism in the "Site News and Feedback", but to contact a moderator directly. If the guy that had deleted my swap post had sent me a pm explaining or not, I probly would have PM'd him back w my sugestion, but I had no idea who it was and didn't really care until I got the warning about my suggestion post.Talk about thin skinned moderators! If this site was anything like the Charger Forum, I'd have been kicked off a long time ago...and would probly have some good company! Anyways, Great job with this Site Steve! I believe you r the only moderator, but could be wrong. Thank you for letting us have a little slack in what we post here. this really is a Great Site! Looking forward to meeting some of you at the bash.
