1969 Mach 1
I am running the Global West set up have had it for 5 years and have been happy with it. Global offers the kit with and without the dropped control arm. With Global,s set up the shock mounts to the lower control arm which greatly increases the suspension travel. The adjustable ride height is great. I run a reverse eye leaf on the rear with QA1 adjustable shocks all around. Do your research there are a lot of kits out there there may be some new ones since I did mine..

After 10 years it's time to replace the tires on my '69 Mach 1. I am currently running Federal 595 Super Steel (225 45 R 17 and 255 40 R 17) a brand sold primarily out west. I've never been happy with the ride always a vibration. They have been re-balance several times over the years the last time on Hunters new $20.000 Road Force machine and that's the best they have been but still have an annoying vibration at highway speeds.
Can anyone recommend a brand that is round and balances out well.
My problem isn't suspension I have global West coil over and TCP rack and pinion all new.

Looking at the picture of your car I would lower the front. If you did the Shelby drop it would probably look just right.
To give you a dimension and measuring point depends on so many variables. The 1969 and 1970 Bud Moore Trans Am cars were 7" from the pivot point of the lower control arm to the ground.

Go with 350's after 273's you will be satisfied. I have 370's with an AOD and 25540x17's and It's a little to much for the highway

Do you have a header brand you prefer I  have shorties on now don't know what brand they are on the car when I bought it.  I think the flange is warped this is the second gasket that blown out. I'm tired of taking it apart,

CONCEPT ONE OUT GEORGIA MAKES A SERPENTINE SET UP THAT MOVES THE AC COMPRESSOR TO THE PASSENGER SIDE ON THE BOTTOM ALMOST COMPLETELY HIDING THE LINES TO THE EVAPORATOR

Nice work. For those of you that can't do that kind of work Concept One out of Georgia makes a kit that does the same thing with tensioner.  I put one on my 1969 Mach 351. I used electric power steering which really cleans things up.

The bump steer gauge is for 1979 & up doesn't work on the vintage  Mustang.

Read the instructions on the kit from Total Control Products on the install and adjustment of bump steer it's not very easy to get right. I was able to do it but only because I installed coil overs and total control rack on my 69 Mach and had the use of a Hunter aligner and someone to help. I had my car lowered to 25" from the top of the front fender arc with 225x40r17 tires.

Installed Mustang Projects LED tail lights on my 1969 Mach 1. They are great very bright. I liked them so much I ordered the headlights, park lights, and side markers. I'll follow up when I finish the rest of the lights this week end.

1969 MUSTANG 351 MILD BUILD, MSD MECHANICAL DISTRIBUTOR, MSD #8222 HIGH VIBRATION COIL EPOXY FILLED, MSD 8.5 MIL WIRES ALL PARTS LIKE NEW.  TOOK THE CAR OUT TO GET FUEL AND ONCE IT WARMED UP IT HAD A MISS THAT GOT WORSE. OPENED THE HOOD AND FOUND THE COIL SPARKING FROM THE TOWER TO THE POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE POSTS ON THE COIL CAUSING THE MISFIRE. I CHANGED THE COIL AND WHEN IT WARMED UP IT DID THE SAME THING. ANYBODY HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE?

According to Daze Car your better off modifying what you have or going with one of the coil over conversions. Daze says the Mustang 2 type suspension should be used only if you need the room for a larger engine. Daze say's it messes up the suspension geometry and handling.
