Quite a few years ago I bought a Lincoln SP100 mig welder. Great machine, light small and 120 volt input. Easy portability. I often set it up on the lathe in my basement to do robot looking welds on round stuff. It lives in my shop here at the house (In Michigan). I noticed the first winter I had it that I started having issues with wire feeding. I talked to a old timer welder at work and the first question out of his mouth was what kind of wire do you use? By kind, he wanted to know brand. By then I had used up the stuff that came with the welder and had who knows what in it. He said go back to Lincoln wire and you will be happier. So I took the wire wiper things the local guy sold me off and went back to the Lincoln wire. Many years later here I am with Lincoln wire. That little welder keeps on making me happy. I remember many times looking at that guys welder after he told me that and yep every time I looked it was Lincoln wire.
It just doesn't rust like all the other stuff I was trying to use and it makes great looking welds.

Looks just like my Tractor! The best thing I got for mine was a Grandson to drive it! I have only had to replace the fuel pump. On the tractor, the one on the Grandson works very well.

Looks like a dab of RTV on the new top would be a good idea and maybe a tiny drain hole on the new bottom.

Yeah, my vacuum bleeder never worked well so it only does duty on chasing actual vacuum leaks and such. Good old two person system always works. Push Hold, (close bleeder) Let Up. (loosen bleeder) Push Hold.............

Yeah I got used to shimming the pinion bearings when I did a lot of work on heavy truck axles. Never went back.

I run a Detroit Locker in my race car but have an open Dana 44 in the 65 mustang for street use. It is in the form of a Jaguar independent rear. It is great since it keeps me from getting too carried away. I have played with the shocks and swaybars to the point it works so well in the corners, I would only need a locker to out run the very best on the road course. In the race car I get better corner exit with the locker than I did with the welded diff since corner entry is so much smoother, It points in really well!

Over the 20+ years i have had my lifts I have rebuilt a couple of cylinders. Used the seals from a local industrial supply that had availability by dimensions like the Mcmaster Carr reference above. Worked great!
Just remember, just like when working on internals of an engine Cleanliness comes before Godliness in hydraulics!

If they are the kind that the outer "cap" rotates freely until the key is turned, just drill a hole a little off center deep enough to go into the mechanism, put a rod in it and turn.

I'm having a time understanding the stock thing! every time I see a "stock" one I immediately think SLOW!!
I have the A pillar cluster which takes less eye movement so it is definitely faster.

I make a plug that goes where the distributor goes with just enough of the distributor shaft and and bearings and gear to drive the oil pump. Been doing it for 45 years. Can't remember having one fail. The Electromotive stuff works well.

I always look for and ask about the stupid clause in all insurance policies. You never know when stupid will show up!!
As for Heims, if applied properly and using the correct one, never had one fail. even the ones I bent in battle!!!
