I'm having a time understanding the stock thing! every time I see a "stock" one I immediately think SLOW!!
I have the A pillar cluster which takes less eye movement so it is definitely faster.

I make a plug that goes where the distributor goes with just enough of the distributor shaft and and bearings and gear to drive the oil pump. Been doing it for 45 years. Can't remember having one fail. The Electromotive stuff works well.

I always look for and ask about the stupid clause in all insurance policies. You never know when stupid will show up!!
As for Heims, if applied properly and using the correct one, never had one fail. even the ones I bent in battle!!!

DC…do you have a picture of this?

Just curious…perhaps I can help someone in future…or myself.

I do not have a pic, but it was an extension on the end of the spool that created a slower pressure drop as you opened the valve more. it had an angle on it which took some playing to get correct.

I had to mess with the relief valve a bit (make a new spool for it) to get10 psi per thousand rpms on my race motor. It has a high flow pump because I ran a pass on the dyno with an extra half of a thousandth of clearence on the rods and mains which produced an amount of horsepower I could not pass up. With the stock spool in the relief valve I was good till 6000 rpms but then the pressure just sat steady up to my 8400 shift point. With the spool I made I now have full 85 psi at shift. I made a snout extension on the spool/poppet to get the right pressure drop. It helped to have worked in the hydraulics industry for ten years. Ane still have access to quite a development lab with all the test equipment.

I'm pretty sure my car is a 64  65  66 Mustang like the Man in Black said in his song, because I think nothing that is removable left the factory actually bolted to this tub. So I've go a lot of build dates!

I have my 4 post lift in my garage at home that has an 8 foot ceiling. I love it. I bought a really nice creeper and adjust the lift so everything I work on is an easy reach between naps on the soft creeper. It also makes my trifocal glasses easier to take advantage of with a lot less head twisting while laying down.

My garage floor is 45 years old and works just like when it was new. Never had a coat of anything because I knew it would drive me crazy. fixing it all the time. Floor still sweeps up great and survives the grinding, welding, painting, and all the mistakes and all I do is sweep or wipe up with solvent. I love all those smooth shiny floors in my buddies shops, but I figure I leave too big of wake behind.

Crimp plus solder had never let me down. I only do that on stuff that is really buried and difficult to get to. Everything else just crimp! i can't remember redoing one ever, but then I am a little bullish on making sure s\everything is clean and the crimper closes COMPLETELY! And it is ligned up well. My way of making sure it takes more time to have fun (drink beer).

Yeah, but after you drink the bourbon, we know where it winds up. I will, on the other hand, still have my fancy new toy in use for many years!

Yeah, If I were building another engine stand, I would start with a worm gear set up, makes it real easy!!
But, I'll keep the Bourbon handy!
When I built my heavy duty engine stand I made it to be the big end of my Rotisserie, so a couple thousand pounds on it alone is no problem.

I tighten the puller as tight as i dare then put the real big hammer tight against the boss on the arm  and smack it on the other side with an only big hammer. Has worked always for me.I learned it from an old guy in the oil field in Oklahoma separating drill pipes.

I have had great success with my Go pro camera tapped/wired/glued to something underneath the car to watch the vibe happen! I did have one that had the tail housing of the tranny bouncing around that ended up being a half broken mount that made the the thing more torsional than up and down since only one side failed.

I would keep bar as high as possible for head height with a Helmet. Have you checked clearance with you and your helmet in the car?

I have one that I think is 500 watts. Was bought to put the tamper seals on the top of bottles like pill bottles. It came with a test coil that I have uset to heat tubing and shafts for shrink fits and such. I got a little too close once and both the lenses fell out of my safety glasses when the frames heated up. I use my torch set!!
