FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Going in for my prostate removal surgery Monday morning. » 11/24/2023 10:01 AM

I had it done about 8 years ago when it was very new to this country. Recovery took a little more time then expected but I am about as normal now as could be expected. Just shower daily even if it is very hard to do at first and all will go well

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Help for the audio system? » 7/10/2023 8:19 AM

Yes it is the original radio. I would like to make it possible for both my wife and I to hear an audio book at the same time

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Help for the audio system? » 7/09/2023 9:38 AM

We still like to travel to car shows.  In the past we've been able to listen to audio books but my hearing is getting so bad that if I can hear it, the volume would drive my wife right out of the car.  I was wondering if there's a simple way to add some type of a dual ear phone system by tapping into the existing audio output.  The car is a 1998 Mustang.  My only experience was adding a package tray or kick panel speakers to the Mustangs back in the 60's.  The only thing that was necessary was to splice into the audio wires and add the speakers.  Job done.  I suspect with today's cars I suspect there is more to it than just cutting into the speaker wires.  Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Thank you all for input. I think I will opt for the clutch kit. Getting there is too much work to revisit if clutch goes

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Whirling sound on shifting » 5/25/2022 10:48 AM

A peculiar sound has developed only when the clutch is depressed, and I'm shifting gears.  there is a whirling sound.  This sound disappears when the clutch is fully engaged and in gear.  What could be the possible cause?  Car is a 1998 Mustang Cobra stock with 100,000 miles on it.  95% of it highway driving.  Very very seldom driven in the city or any other situation that requires frequent shifting.  All ideas welcome.

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Seats for 68 convertible?? » 2/05/2022 10:03 PM

OK Steve is that good or bad?? Will any 90'S  Mustang fit into my CONVERTIBLE?? Or do I need convertible seats only?

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Seats for 68 convertible?? » 2/05/2022 11:26 AM

It would have been nice to have power seats but there would have been no way to sit in the car. I did remove them and switched to the 68 tracks. Seats stiller higher than I would like but once I was in useable. The problem is the 98 seats are just a little too wide and jam if you try to adjust. When you said you used 90s fox seats where they for a convirtible?? or will any 90s Fox seats work? If you could dig up the pictures it would be nice
Thanks SRJ

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Seats for 68 convertible?? » 2/04/2022 10:59 PM

Got some really nice  black 98 Cobra seats. Switch seat tracks from the 68 to 98 seats. In test discovered they will NOT fit (with the ability to adjust) Very mush rubbing between center hump and door still. If I were to raise them I could not sit in car   What seats are being used in convertible.   Rudi ??? anyone else have ideas?

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Mildew problems » 1/06/2022 2:44 PM

Car has been in garage and covered for many years. Just took a look thinking to get it up and running and was shocked to find a patina of mildew over all surfaces. I was thinking to using 1/4 cup of bleach to 2 gal of water to clean. Any better ideas?
Thanks

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 1969 Hood bending , reparable? » 8/17/2021 9:11 PM

I was thinking to sell a 69 coupe and an interested party went  to open the hood before I could stop him. The car has been sitting for about 10 years. Hinges are very stiff and he raised it part way and when he went to put it down, the left side, just forward  of  the hinge, bent about 25 degrees. I will remove hinges and clean and lube.  The hood is now straight but left side can be bent easily.  How can I reinforce??

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Big, big Mistake » 10/08/2020 8:54 PM

BIG mistake!!!
I have been overwhelmed with repairs to the house. I also have been trying to sell off some of the Mustangs I acquired over the years with the idea that I would have plenty of time to work on them. Ain't  happening .So I hired a ??Mustang?? guy to replace the inner fenders on a 68. Easy job (with new radiator core support.
Well the work was OK. BUT he cut out the parts with the VIN numbers and discarded them. I did not notice until I started think about putting things back together.I have the vin numbers on the title. Is there anyone how can reproduce them so that I can weld them in where they belong?

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Vin plate » 8/03/2019 6:44 PM

Well it would be a lot harder to cut up. The car has been my dump for all household and car metal. It is really loaded.
About the only useable Mustang parts are the rear axle and front spindles. Top gone, center of  floor (tranny hump) sent to a Mustang Steve person about 2 years ago. Just a total rust and junk car.

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Vin plate » 8/02/2019 8:05 PM

Thank you Ron. Yes it is the metal dash vin tag that I was looking for.  I have a 67 that has been repaired at BOTH inner fenders and the person who did replacement of the inner fender did NOT save stamped vit #. I used the car   dash and roof for a 67 that was in much better shape. Now I would like to junk what is left.  I was told that even with a title the junk yard will not accept cars without a vin . Dash tag lost, front half of  both inner replaced by PO What to do??

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Vin plate » 8/01/2019 9:20 PM

Can anyone tell me where I can get a new vin plate? ( I have valid title)

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Simple question I hope How does Oil flow through filter ??? » 9/14/2018 8:39 AM

How does the oil enter the filter? through the center large hole or from the outside into the center and then back to the engine?
